Monique Samuels is returning to The Real Housewives of Potomac for Season 10 after she left the reality TV show in 2020. She will be joining in a supporting role. In a video from a live stream she did, which she posted on Instagram on June 13, Monique told viewers that she would “be popping in and out” and that she’s not officially back on the series in a “full-time capacity.”

Monique also addressed how she had sworn to never return to reality TV, telling the camera, “I have said for years and years and years, ‘It’s a no. It’s never.’ And every single year I’ve been gone I’ve been asked and I’ve been like ‘No.'” She laughs at how she had changed her mind and reveals that “something happened, something changed,” and so she agreed to return because she’s “not the person that she was.” She continued, “A lot of the reasons that I said no was because of the person that I was and I’m not her anymore. And what better way to test my healing.”

There has been much speculation about why Monique decided to come back to the show after she had sworn it off for good. Fans are thrilled about the news, and in her video clip, Monique shared how she was a different person. A source shed more light on this statement, telling People on June 7: “Monique’s in a totally different place now, and fans will see that. She’s excited to show who she is now — not as a wife, not as just a mom, but as a woman starting over and taking on life on her own terms.”

Monique had a decent run with The Real Housewives of Potomac, joining in Season 2 in 2017 and leaving in 2020. After Season 5, she discussed her time on the reality TV show. “I’m over it,” she said in an Instagram Live in December 2020, Deadline reports.

She also made a statement on Instagram addressing her time on the show. “It was a crazy ride. It’s not easy doing reality TV,” she said. “I appreciate everything that people have done for me, everybody that’s been Team Monique — I love y’all, I thank y’all — but when you cross certain lines there’s no going back. And for me, my family is that line. The opinion of my family and my kids and what they think about anything that I do is more valuable than anybody’s opinion.”
