Queer Eye has enjoyed immense popularity, having aired on Netflix since 2018 (although it first aired as a Bravo original in 2003). Netflix’s original cast members included Antoni Porowski, Bobby Berk, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, and Tan France. In 2023, after Season 8, Berk announced his decision to leave the show, and interior designer Jeremiah Brent replaced him.
Now, the Netflix reboot has come to an end after ten seasons, and fans have reacted to the news with great sadness. Netflix created a post on Instagram, revealing that Season 10 will be the last. A photo featured the five current members smiling, and the caption teased the upcoming season. “10 seasons. fab five. one last go ’round,'” the caption reads. “The final season of QUEER EYE is officially in production!”
How Do Fans Feel About Netflix Canceling ‘Queer Eye?’
Tan reacted to the post, writing, “What a joy it’s been to be able to make this beautiful show all these years.” Jonathan commented, writing, “What a wild ride, excited to bring it back one more time.”
Berk, who recently landed a new HGTV show titled Junk or Jackpot?, also reacted to the post. “What a ride,” he wrote, followed by a red heart emoji.
Fans were eager to share their thoughts, and the comment section of the post was flooded with reactions. “The final season? Say it ain’t so! But what an iconic place to end it,” a comment reads. “WHAT! just when Jeremiah became the cast member of our dreams,” a fan reacted. “Last season was the best! We need more from this team in these dark times!”
Other reactions include, “You changed my life forever! Thank you for everything,” and “The final season? Say it ain’t so! But what an iconic place to end it.”
Jonathan also shared a photo on his own Instagram account for his 5.3 million followers to see. In the caption, he shared his thoughts and reflected upon the show with great fondness. “Season 10, the final season We are so excited to bring this finale to you, and excited for whats next,” he wrote. With the success of the series and its stars, fans can expect to see a lot more of them in the future.
A Look Back At ‘Queer Eye’
Queer Eye has an impressive following, with 1.8 million followers on Instagram alone, which is just a fraction of the support the series has garnered. It is Netflix’s longest-running unscripted series and has been recognized as great reality TV, with Variety reporting that the show has “earned 11 Emmy wins and 37 nominations. It continues to hold the record for the most wins ever in the outstanding structured reality program category, with six consecutive trophies.”
Impressive is an understatement!
Although fans may be sad to see the show end, it’s not all bad news, as Season 10 still needs to air. Production started last week in Washington, D.C., Variety reports, and the synopsis reveals the series “will celebrate the show’s legacy and impact, spotlighting heroes from the nation’s capital.” Let’s see what the final season brings us!
