Season seven of Love Island USA recently premiered on Peacock, and it seems to be as buzzworthy as ever. So far, one cast member, Huda Mustafa, has been receiving significant backlash from fans of the show over her antics. Now, the father of her child has come to her defense with a social media post.

For those not in the know, Huda was up for elimination during a recent episode. While she wasn’t sent home, she did remain single after the show’s recoupling. However, that’s not where the backlash comes in. Many fans find the 25-year-old possessive, and they also feel that she’s a bit misogynistic. Beyond this, it also seems that some are attacking her for being a single mother.

Recently, someone in the Love Island USA thread on Reddit posted a screenshot of a TikTok Story post from Noah Sheline, who proclaims to be the father of Huda’s daughter, Arleigh. In it, he begins, “At the end of the day, I hope everyone remembers we’re human. Her going on that show to find love, or whatever you think it was she’s doing, remember she’s still human, she has a daughter, and a life. I hope everyone remembers we’re human.”

From here, Noah remarked that fans of Love Island USA have been searching for social media content from him and Huda and leaving negative comments. He went on, “She’s maybe not doing a great job, idk I don’t watch the show, but I don’t like that I’m seeing so much negative s— on my page or even clips of it about her.”

He then highlighted how unhealthy some of the obsession is, saying, “It’s not my job to police her or the people in my comments, but I will say what you guys do will affect her mental health and my daughter’s maybe in the future. So I’m looking out for her in that aspect. Out of respect for our daughter.”

Noah also said that although he has no interest in rekindling things with Huda, he cares about her as she is the mother of his child. Notably, he’s worried about her mental health and how the backlash from fans of the show could negatively impact it.

He also acknowledged that some viewers have been kind, saying, “For people who have been respectful and nice and defending her as a mother, thank you! She tries just as much as any other young parent in this world.” Noah added, “I just ask people be nice. It’s a TV show. Y’all are watching people date, I don’t think it’s that serious to put someone down a hole of bullying. Regardless of how ridiculous she might be or seem.”
