BBC Radio 2 host Fearne Cotton went under the knife to have two jawline tumours removed just weeks after her pal Davina McCall had surgery for a brain tumour. The star, who has also hosted Love Island and the Xtra Factor during her broadcasting career, has now revealed that there is “not a scrap” of the tumours remaining.

She triumphantly brandished an ultrasound scan confirming that the surgery had been successful at removing the benign growths. It comes after the scare gave her a new perspective on life and made her determined to appreciate it more than ever before. Fearne confirmed that she was “feeling great” and “ready for life” now – and she’s been working on a new book.

She wrote on Instagram, where she has almost four million followers, “Had an ultra sound today and I’m happy to say that I’m healing well post operation and there is not a scrap of tumour left on my parotid gland.

“Grateful. To those of you who sent me messages that have a similar operation coming up I’m sending love for your recovery.”

Fearne also received messages of solidarity from celebrity pals such as Holly Willoughby, Gok Wan and of course Davina McCall, who is also recovering well after her own gruelling surgery.

She also opened up on her writing project, explaining: “Started writing one book (which I will finish) but then another idea came to me urgently so I’ve started writing another. It’s flowing. It’s helping me figure things out. It’s leading me down very interesting paths.

“I’m not sure I’ve ever felt more desperate to write a book. Being in this sort of flow is my favourite. Whether it’s writing or painting. More on this book soooon.”

Meanwhile, Fearne also recently announced her split from Rolling Stones bassist Ronnie Wood’s son Jesse, bringing an end to a decade of marriage.

She’s already moved on and has been spotting kissing TV director Elliot Hegarty during nights out on the town.

In spite of the upheaval, when she joined Scott Mills on his Radio 2 breakfast show, she declared she was “really happy” and “springing out of bed in the morning ready for life”.
