Even though Finn Wolfhard is still only 20 years old as of this writing, he has already accomplished more than most actors will in a lifetime. Launched into superstardom due to his starring role in Netflix’s Stranger Things, Wolfhard has already managed to amass an impressive net worth.
On top of starring in Stranger Things, Wolfhard has also landed some truly impressive movie roles. Some examples of Wolfhard’s film roles include The Addams Family, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and the film adaptations of Stephen King’s popular horror novel It.
Considering that Wolfhard has played a role in so many huge franchises, it is only natural for observers to compare them. Even though starring in the Ghostbusters reboot and the Addams Family animated movies was a big deal, Wolfhard’s two most talked about projects are Stranger Things and It.
During an interview, Wolfhard was asked to compare Stranger Things and Stephen King’s It. In response, Wolfhard made it clear that he thought It was better than Stranger Things in at least one pivotal way.
Why Finn Wolfhard Once Chose Stephen King’s It Over Stranger Things
When most actors become famous, observers often think they have it made. In reality, however, the truth is that once an actor makes it to the top they go on to spend years doing everything they can to stay on top.
Due to the fact that movie and TV stars often fear doing anything to risk their careers, their interviews often become pretty boring.
To Finn Wolfhard’s credit, he doesn’t seem wishy-washy when he gets interviewed like many of his peers do. The perfect example of that is when Wolfhard was asked to compare It and Stranger Things in 2017, he didn’t mince words.
Considering that Wolfhard is still starring in Stranger Things to this day, it may have been shrewder for him to choose the popular Netflix series. However, Wolfhard definitively said that It was superior to Stranger Things in at least one way.
When Wolfhard and his It costars were interviewed during an appearance on Good Morning America, Amy Robach asked him if Pennywise or Demogorgons are scarier. Without missing a beat, Wolfhard chose Pennywise and gave a convincing argument for his decision.
“A lot of people have been asking me, ‘What’s scarier, Pennywise of the Demogorgon?’ I thought that, the Demogorgon you could kill, for real, but Pennywise can shapeshift into anything and is kind of immortal, in a sense. I think that’s why he’s scarier, because he’s more of a being.”

Would Finn Wolfhard Choose Stranger Things Of It Now?
Of course, what is scary is in the eye of the beholder so some people may think that Demogorgons are more frightening than Pennywise.
No matter what anyone’s opinion is on that debate, it is easy to understand Finn Wolfhard’s aforementioned argument. However, since Wolfhard made that aforementioned comment, Stranger Things clearly has changed in a major way.
During the third season of Stranger Things, many fans were freaked out by the show’s new villain, The Mind Flayer. A massive and rather gross monster that was shockingly quick, The Mind Flayer was a very compelling villain.
However, what fans couldn’t know when The Mind Flayer debuted is the show’s fourth season would turn out to be so much scarier.
From the first moment that Stranger Things fans saw the demise of Chrissy Cunningham, they knew the fourth season of Stranger Things wasn’t messing around. As it would turn out, Vecna would go on to deeply scare many of the show’s viewers in the episodes that followed.
On top of being frightening, Vecna turned out to be capable of some truly horrific things. A perfect example of that is that Vecna proved to be just as willing to dispatch children as Pennywise is.
Introduced during Stranger Things’ fourth season, Vecna has to be one of the scariest monsters in television history. After all, Vecna is so fearsome that websites like cbr.com put together lists of the character’s scariest moments.
If you asked Stranger Things fans to name the show’s scariest villain, virtually everyone would choose Vecna. In fact, it seems hard to fathom the idea that anyone would find Demogorgons to be more frightening than Vecna.
If Finn Wolfhard gets interviewed now that fans have seen the fourth season of Stranger Things, he may be asked to compare Pennywise to Vecna. Of course, there is no way for anyone but Wolfhard to know how he would reply to that hypothetical question.
One thing is clear, however, there is a strong possibility that Wolfhard would pick Vecna over Pennywise.
