Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are back together again — on the red carpet.
The exes, who finalized their divorce in February, posed together at the Monday, October 6, New York City premiere for Kiss of the Spider Woman. Lopez, 56, stars in the film, while Affleck’s production company, Artist’s Equity, produced the project.
Lopez stunned for the event in a custom Harris Reed structural gown that showed off her curves. She pinned her hair back above her neck and donned dainty earrings to let the dress shine. Affleck, for his part, opted for a traditional blue suit and white collared shirt.
The pair could be seen smiling and laughing together while posing for photographers, and were later spotted chatting it up on the carpet before heading into the screening.
While speaking to Extra, Affleck explained why he initially got involved with the movie, which hits theaters Wednesday, October 10.
“[Matt Damon] and I started this company and part of that was to finance movies,” he told the outlet. “And I didn’t want to just make movies that were obvious or that everyone else was going to make. We really care about artists taking risks and really want to bet on great artists, so as a financier and producer of the movie, this was exactly the kind of thing that we want to do with our movies. Give people the opportunity, let them show the world how magnificent they are.”
Affleck also gushed about how “amazing” Lopez is in the film, noting that he is “as proud of this movie as any that I’ve ever been involved with. I’m really excited to be here tonight.”
The Oscar winner praised his ex-wife’s work ethic, saying she gave “her all” to the role. “She worked enormously hard,” he said. “You get to see, like, all of her many gifts, she’s somebody that grew up watching, you know, classic musicals.”

Acknowledging her triple-threat ability to act, sing and dance, he added, “She really does it all in this movie.”
Based on the 1976 Manuel Puig novel and the 1993 Broadway musical of the same name, Kiss of the Spider Woman follows the story of prisoner Valentin (Diego Luna) who shares a cell with a man named Molina (Tonatiuh), a window dresser convicted of public indecency. The pair form an unlikely bond as Molina recounts a Hollywood musical starring his favorite starlet, Ingrid Luna (Lopez).
Throughout her press run, Lopez has been openly gracious to Affleck for his support around the movie, claiming it wouldn’t have gotten off the ground without his help.
“Thank you so much, thank you everybody for being here tonight. Thank you, Ben, this movie wouldn’t have been made without Ben and without Artist Equity,” Lopez said ahead of Monday night’s screening, per People. “I read the script, if you know, I was in bed and I was just floored. I was just like, ‘Could this be happening right now? I get to sing, I get to dance, I get to act. I get to be an old-time Hollywood movie star!’”
Lopez and Affleck tied the knot in 2022 after calling off an engagement decades earlier. Lopez filed for divorce two years later, listing April 26, 2024, as their date of separation.
During an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning earlier this month, the “Waiting for Tonight” signer opened up about how she juggled filming Kiss of the Spider Woman while working through struggles in her marriage to Affleck.
“It was hard not to think about stuff, but it was, like, the best and the worst of times,” she shared. “Every moment on set … I was so happy. And then … back home, it was not great. But you get through it and, you know, honestly, I have to say, it was the best thing that ever happened to me because it changed me. It helped me grow in a way that I needed to grow … become more self-aware. I’m a different person now than I was last year.”
