Nneka Ihim, a former star of “Real Housewives of Potomac,” faced off against Hurricane Melissa while delivering a gusty update from a balcony.
Currently enjoying a getaway in Montego Bay, Ihim shared her experience on Instagram on Tuesday. She sported a black crop top and matching shorts from Alo as powerful winds whipped around her.
“Hey everyone, just wanted to give a quick update,” Ihim said, standing on the hotel balcony. She noted that many followers were curious about why she was still in Jamaica amid the storm.
Ihim explained that upon learning about the approaching storm, she and her group attempted to leave the island promptly. However, they were unable to do so as Jamaica had already closed its airports.
“It wasn’t the airlines’ decision—neither American Airlines, United, nor Delta,” she clarified while holding the balcony railing for support. “It was a decision made by the country of Jamaica two days ago.”
“The skies were clear, the beach water was blue, the weather was perfect,” Ihim divulged.
“It’s been perfect for the past two days. So we still don’t even know why the airport was closed because the weather was great for flying.”
Ihim shared that the hotel and resort she’d been staying at had “been very accommodating.”
“They’ve done their best to take care of us and accommodate us, and they’re in very good spirits,” Ihim said.
“They’re playing music, they’re playing games and trying to keep us distracted from what’s going on outside, but I’m not here by choice.”
Ihim — who appeared on the Bravo series during Season 8 between 2023 and 2024 — said the resort had done “their best to keep food and water available for us.”
Gripping her athletic visor as the hurricane-force winds continued, the Bravolebrity said, “The country closed the airport, so I’m hoping to leave by Thursday. Stay tuned for more updates.”
Fellow “RHOP” alum Candiace Dillard Bassett weighed in with a supportive comment.
“Thank God the resort is being accommodating! Praying for your safe return!!!!!” she wrote.
Others were alarmed to see Ihim standing outside in such volatile weather. “Nneka please go inside 😩😩😩” urged one follower, while another wrote, “Girl get inside!”
“Pls pack ur bags & head home🙃🥹” a third remarked, with a fourth chiming in, “Omg stay safe sis❤️.”
Prior to the storm, on Saturday, Ihim took to Instagram to share a sweet vacation photo with baby Noah, whom she welcomed with husband Dr. Ikenna Ihim in May.
“Vacationing with my honey is my new favorite hobby ♥️” Nneka wrote alongside a beach pic of herself holding her baby while rocking a bikini.
