Following her recent exit from Strictly Come Dancing, reality TV star Vicky Pattison faces another setback as her Channel 4 dating show has been cancelled after just one season. The show, titled The Honesty Box, transported singles to a paradise-like setting called Truetopia to determine if complete transparency was the key to resolving relationship challenges. Contestants also had a shot at winning a £100,000 prize. Despite its unique premise, the show will not return, as it was outperformed in ratings by Virgin Island, another dating series from Channel 4, which has secured a second season.
“Honesty Box was a fantastic concept developed by a talented team,” a Channel 4 spokesperson shared. “However, with numerous successful new reality shows this year, we had to make some tough decisions. Virgin Island resonated strongly with viewers and will be back next year,” the spokesperson confirmed regarding the show’s cancellation.
The innovative series derived its name from an honesty-focused mechanism, the Honesty Box, which posed challenging questions to participants.
Despite this disappointment, there is a silver lining for Vicky Pattison. She has secured another role with Channel 4, joining Adam Hills, Davina McCall, and Hannah Fry as co-hosts for the network’s annual Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser, set for December 12.
Alongside Adam Hills, Davina McCall and Hannah Fry, she is set to co-host Channel 4’s annual Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser, which takes place on December 12.
Speaking about the role, she said: “I’ve supported cancer-related causes for many years, taking part in fundraising treks and awareness campaigns for breast cancer, and it means a great deal to continue championing such work.”
The star is also producing her own documentary, which will chart her and husband Ercan Ramadan’s journey to parenthood, which is set to air next year on E4.
Following her Strictly departure, the former Geordie Shore star revealed her “heart broke” for her dance partner, Kai Widdrington, as she knew they were leaving when it was announced they were in the dance-off.
The pair exited the show on Sunday, November 16, when they were voted out for their Jive after going head to head with EastEnders’ Balvinder Sopal.
Her exit meant she did not make it to the legendary dancefloor in Blackpool for the show which broadcast on Saturday, November 22.
