A memorable episode of The Big Bang Theory titled “The Sibling Realignment” featured the debut of the character Georgie Cooper.

During that episode, it was seemingly revealed that Georgie was unlucky in love. In fact, that episode revealed that by the time Georgie was in his forties, the character had been married and divorced twice.

There is no denying that, at face value, it has seemed like Mandy McAllister and Georgie Cooper weren’t destined to end up together. Despite that, Emily Osment’s comments about the character certainly made it seem like she hopes they wind up together. While that may seem unlikely, there are two reasons to think that Emily may get her wish.

First off, the simple fact is that even though The Big Bang Theory set up that Georgie Cooper got married and divorced twice, that doesn’t have to be the case.

That article reveals that the story inconsistencies between the two shows include major plot points. That article definitively shows that the team behind the franchise doesn’t seem to be that concerned about maintaining the continuity between the shows. As a result, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage could just ignore that claim from The Big Bang Theory.

If that wasn’t enough, Young Sheldon also showed that the franchise’s producers are happy to show previously revealed storyline details from a new perspective.

During The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon Cooper memorably explained that he knocks on doors three times because he once walked in on his father cheating with a blonde. It was a huge moment in The Big Bang Theory that explained a long-running gag on the show. However, during Young Sheldon, it was revealed that the blonde Sheldon thought his dad was cheating with actually was his mom in a wig.

Since Young Sheldon showed that Cooper family history can be rewritten, why can’t Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage do the same thing? To Emily’s point, Georgie and Mandy could get married and divorced twice and still wind up together and in love after that. In fact, given how rash he can be, there is always the possibility of Georgie filing for divorce just so he and Mandy can get remarried.
