Gia Giudice Reveals Her Diagnosis After Finding “Huge Lump” on Her Chest as RHONJ Star Encourages Others to Not "Be Afraid to Go to the Doctor"

Gia Giudice revealed she found a “huge lump” that was hurting her chest. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star said she went to the doctor “right away,” and she shared the results of her ultrasound.

The 24-year-old is the daughter of Teresa Giudice, an original castmate on RHONJ. When the show began, Gia was a small child with dreams of becoming an actor. She now has a new podcast and is filming a new reality show, Making It in Manhattan.

“About a week and a half ago, I found this huge lump on the side of my [chest],” said Gia in an interview with Extra, via @realhousewivesofwestchester on Instagram. “And it was huge. It was bulging out. Meanwhile, [the other] side was flat.”

Gia said it was “abnormal” and “hurting me.”

“So right away I went to the doctor, got an ultrasound,” she continued. “I got the results back.”

Through the ultrasound, Gia discovered that she has a “lipoma,” a benign tumor. According to Gia, a lipoma is “basically when fat cells group together and form a lump on your body.”

“Because it’s hurting me and causing discomfort, I need to get it removed,” she said. “But right now I’m on Accutane, so my dermatologist recommended for me not to get it removed yet because while on Accutane, your skin doesn’t heal properly.”

Gia said she’s hoping to get it removed by June. “Always check in on yourself,” she added. “Don’t be afraid to go to the doctor. It’s better to get on it rather than run from it.”

On her new Casual Chaos podcast, Gia recently shared why she put her law school dreams on hold.

“I actually was driving myself insane,” said the star. “I was studying for a year and a half, spent over $5,000 on tutors, like I don’t want you guys to think I didn’t try, because I did.”

At the time, Gia had multiple “job offers” and social media deals.

“My tutor literally looked at me one day and said to me, ‘If you are not 100 percent invested in this and 100 percent in the game, you cannot become a lawyer,’” she said. “Because going to law school, studying for your LSATs, it’s a full-time job.”
