Gia Giudice Suggests Next Gen NYC Wasn’t the “Best Reflection” of “Who I Truly Am," Addresses Drama With Riley and Hints at Where They Now Stand

Gia Giudice suggested that season one of Next Gen NYC wasn’t the “best reflection” of “who I truly am” and “how I treat my friends.” She also addressed her on-screen argument with Kandi Burruss’ daughter, Riley Burruss, and she hinted at where they stand.

In a controversial episode, Gia insinuated that Riley was being harsh when she told Georgia McCann that her plan to start a bowling alley/club was a “terrible idea.” Eventually, Riley left the scene in tears. Though Riley and Gia are friends, the argument seemed to be a fracture in their relationship.

On her Casual Chaos podcast, Gia addressed her portrayal on Next Gen NYC.

“I know I wear my expressions on my face, but wow – this season of Next Gen, I did not realize how much you could read how I was feeling without me even opening my mouth,” she said. “And I think this season of Next Gen was not the best reflection of who I truly am in the workplace, what I do every day, and how I treat my friends.”

Specifically, she addressed her argument with Riley over the bowling alley.

“I was never trying to make Riley feel less than herself or make her feel like she couldn’t say her opinion,” she said. “Because truth be told, Riley’s opinion was 100% correct.”

Gia added, “I never like to see my friends upset. I never like to see my friends hurt. And I get very protective. So when we were sitting at that dinner table in Atlantic City, I honestly thought that Riley was gonna come off as rude, and I didn’t want her to look like that on camera, so I was trying to protect her.”

She went on to admit she went about things the wrong way.

Gia shared, “But then I just need to realize that it’s not my place and I’m allowed to let situations just play out how they’re supposed to play out. Because in the end, Riley, you were so right and there was no need for me to insert myself. And like Ariana said, you know, ‘Gia, just shut the f*** up sometimes.’ Yeah, sometimes I need to just shut the f*** up… And I was definitely a little harsh towards Riley and Georgia when I told them to shut the f*** up at the dinner table in Atlantic City.”

Earlier this month, Gia discussed her connection to the cast.

“I don’t think it was any secret to how we met, especially for me. I knew Brooks and Ariana Biermann really well. We just connected and clicked. I’m genuinely very close with them, and then Riley, I knew her through the Bravo world, met her at BravoCon, but Riley and I honestly formed more of a friendship while filming Next Gen. And same with a lot of the cast members. I didn’t know them,” said Gia on The Viall Files.

She continued, “Filming the first couple episodes, it was everyone just getting used to each other and feeling it out and getting comfortable. There were connections between the whole cast, but between certain people, we really didn’t know each other that well. So, as the season goes on, I feel like you’re gonna see people get more comfortable with each other.”
