Bravo’s new series Next Gen NYC follows well-known kids of Real Housewives stars and their friends as they navigate adulthood in the Big Apple. With Season 1 in the books, audiences found the drama addictive and especially loved watching the likes of Ariana Biermann, Gia Giudice, Brooks Marks, and Riley Burruss all grown up and making major moves in their careers and relationships.
Gia Giudice, daughter of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice, emerged as one of the central figures on the Bravo show. However, during a cast trip to Atlantic City, viewers expressed mixed reactions to her behavior in a particular scene. Reflecting on her experience, Gia admitted she had a few regrets about how she came across and shared that she plans to grow from the moment.
Here’s How Gia Giudice Felt When She Watched Herself Back On Next Gen NYC Season 1
Season 1 of Next Gen NYC has officially come to a close, and it’s clear these fresh faces of reality TV are walking away with more than just screen time, they’re gaining some much-needed self-awareness. Among them is Gia Giudice, who is no stranger to the spotlight, having grown up in front of the cameras on The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Now stepping onto her own as a lead cast member, Gia is taking time to reflect on how she presented herself on the show, particularly in moments that sparked reactions from viewers. While she is proud of her growth, she wasn’t afraid to admit that certain scenes left her cringing and full of regret.
Gia was only 8-years-old when she starred on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, in 2009. Gia is Teresa Giudice’s eldest daughter. She is also a mom to Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana.
In a recent episode of her Casual Chaos podcast, Gia discussed how she was perceived on Season 1 of Next Gen NYC, being honest about what she found surprising about herself when she watched the show back. “I did a lot of self-reflecting,” she told her listeners.
“I think this season of Next Gen was not the best reflection of who I truly am in the workplace, what I do every day, and how I treat my friends.”
She continued, “I don’t regret sticking up for my friends, but I also think I could take a step back and not insert myself as much.”
“I know I wear my expressions on my face, but wow, this season of Next Gen, I did not realize how much you could read how I was feeling without me even opening my mouth.”
Gia Reflects On That Atlantic City Dinner Scene
One particular moment that left fans with mixed feelings about Gia is when the cast were all gathered together for a dinner in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Gia ended up having a very tense moment with Riley Burruss (daughter of RHOA’s Kandi Burruss), after Riley had called Georgia McCann’s bowling/club idea “terrible.” Gia confronted Riley about coming off as rude towards Georgia. She then shared, “I think when you get a little tipsy, you get a little rough.”
In her podcast episode, Gia shared that she felt the need to protect Riley at that moment and not necessarily scold her for her comments.
“When we were sitting at that dinner table in Atlantic City, I honestly thought that Riley was going to come off as rude, and I didn’t want her to look like that on camera,” she began. “I was trying to protect her, but then I just need to realize that, it’s not my place. I’m allowed to let situations play out how they are supposed to play out. In the end Riley, you are so right.”
She continued, “Like Ariana [Biermann] said, ‘Just shut the f*** up sometimes,’ and yeah, sometimes I just need to shut the f*** up.'”
Despite the situation, Gia shared that she and Riley are on good terms. “But Riley and I really formed more of a friendship while filming. Same with a lot of the cast members,” Gia said.
Will There Be A Next Gen NYC Season 2?
Next Gen NYC offered a refreshing look at what life might be like for members of Gen Z navigating adulthood in the spotlight. It was especially compelling to see the children of Real Housewives stars all grown up and stepping into their own, ready to chase careers, confront drama, and carve out identities beyond their famous last names.
Next Gen NYC absolutely deserves a second season, this group clearly knows how to deliver compelling reality TV and bring the drama.
That said, there are a few adjustments that could be made after watching the first season. For starters, we could do without so much screen time from Meredith and Seth Marks, Brooks’ parents, whose appearances often felt unnecessary. And when it comes to casting, Charlie Zakkour might be better left off Season 2. His demeaning behavior toward Georgia, his inappropriate interest in Ariana despite her committed relationship, and the microaggressions directed at Riley all crossed the line.

During her podcast episode, Gia hoped that Bravo would allow the cast to film Season 2, sharing that she truly learned a lot about herself as she watched the first season back. “I’m really excited if Next Gen is fortunate enough to get Season 2, to really show you guys how I’m going to grow and evolve because this group has definitely taught me that.”
“I’m also excited to show you guys more into my career and my relationship and steps that I am taking in my life, like moving closer to New York City,” she added.
