The Golden Globes have returned to their iconic venue at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, marking Hollywood’s most laid-back awards event. In its 83rd edition, the ceremony brings together a host of stars on the red carpet, celebrated not just for the accolades but also for its vibrant atmosphere.
This year’s event unfolds amidst a backdrop of challenges, including Warner Bros’ lackluster box office performance and ongoing political unrest in the U.S. Despite these issues, host Nikki Glaser has assured viewers of an entertaining night that offers a break from current events, while also delivering sharp humor aimed at the industry’s elite.
In a lighthearted pre-show comment, Glaser quipped, “We’re going to hit Leo, the icebergs are coming!” Notable contenders for this year’s awards include Timothée Chalamet and Leonardo DiCaprio, with Cynthia Erivo from the musical Wicked also in the running.
Stars make red carpet appearances
Among the early arrivals were Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who captivated photographers as they posed together on the red carpet.
Meanwhile, singer Laufey experienced a humorous mix-up with photographers repeatedly mistaking her name. Amidst the camera flashes and calls of “Megan,” she laughed and corrected them, saying, “My name isn’t Megan.”
A-list presenters confirmed
This year’s presenters include a wide range of established stars and newer faces. Organisers have confirmed appearances from George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Queen Latifah, alongside rising actors Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams from Heated Rivalry.
They will also be joined by a long list of well-known names including Amanda Seyfried, Ana de Armas, Ayo Edebiri, Charli xcx, Chris Pine, Colman Domingo, Dakota Fanning, Dave Franco, Diane Lane, Hailee Steinfeld, Jason Bateman, Jennifer Garner, Joe Keery, Judd Apatow, Justin Hartley, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, Kevin Bacon, Kevin Hart, Kyra Sedgwick, Lalisa Manobal, Luke Grimes, Macaulay Culkin, Marlon Wayans, Melissa McCarthy, Mila Kunis, Miley Cyrus, Minnie Driver, Orlando Bloom, Pamela Anderson, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Regina Hall, Sean Hayes, Snoop Dogg, Wanda Sykes, Will Arnett and Zoë Kravitz.
