Gordon Ramsay is expanding his portfolio of reality TV cooking shows with something new and exciting: Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars. The new Apple TV+ show was announced as an eight-part docu-series that will follow the lives of distinguished chefs in their quest to achieve Michelin Stars.
The celebrity chef will serve as an executive producer on the show alongside Lisa Edwards and Morgan Roberts. James Callum, the series director, is also part of the production, and food expert Jesse Burgess has signed on as host. But what can viewers expect to see?

The series will have exclusive Michelin Guide access, allowing viewers to understand better the process of being awarded the prestigious culinary award known as the Michelin Star and the work it takes to achieve one. The synopsis for the show states: “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars follows the fates of elite chefs at some of the world’s most unique and celebrated restaurants to determine if they will win, maintain, or lose that precious Star. From attempting to gain their first, tirelessly working to secure their distinction, or striving to gain a second or an elusive third star – each chef faces a deeply personal challenge.”
The series will follow chefs from multiple cities, including London, Los Angeles, Copenhagen, and Mexico City. Awarding a star is a complicated process, and the award does not come easily. The synopsis reveals that the inspectors will “use false identities and phone numbers to dine anonymously.”
The news that Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars received the green light was shared on Apple TV+’s official Instagram account. The post allowed fans to react, and comments included, “Wowww, this is huge!!!!!,” “Congratulations, Jesse, this is amazing! I can’t wait to watch!” and “No way!?? This is amazing!!!”
What Has Gordon Ramsay Said About ‘Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars?’
Ramsay has also shared his thoughts on his latest project. “As a chef, the pursuit for perfection is everything, and you cannot underestimate the unbelievable drive and ambition, the determination and sacrifice these chefs are going through day in and day out, chasing the dream of acknowledgment from The Michelin Guide,” he said in a statement, per Parade.
Ramsay is familiar with the Michelin Star process. His restaurants worldwide currently hold eight, and he has been awarded 17.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the stories of some of the most exciting restaurants in the world — as they throw everything, including the kitchen sink, at their obsessive quest for the ultimate award,” host Jesse Burgess shared.
Ramsay and his expertise are greatly respected in the food industry. Earlier this year, he announced another exciting project: a cooking show with a Secret Service twist. The new series, Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service, premieres May 21. The idea for this show is that Ramsay will go undercover to gather evidence about restaurants. He hopes to help by learning what issues they face.
