On Saturday, Savannah Guthrie once again reached out on social media with a heartfelt appeal regarding her mother Nancy Guthrie’s reported abduction.
“We have received your communication and comprehend the situation,” shared the “Today” host, flanked by her siblings, Camron and Annie.
“We earnestly plead for our mother’s safe return so we can reunite with her,” she expressed. “This is the only path to our peace, and it’s invaluable to us—we are willing to meet your demands.”
Eighty-four-year-old Nancy Guthrie was last seen on Saturday evening and was declared missing after she did not appear at church on Sunday.
Her last known contact was with Annie’s husband, Tommaso Cioni, who had dropped her off at her residence in Tucson, Arizona.
On Monday, police said the home of the Guthrie matriarch was being treated as a crime scene. Authorities believe she “taken from the home against her will.”
On Saturday, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said: “This remains an active and ongoing investigation, which includes the review of multiple pieces of evidence.
“At this time, we will not confirm or release additional details regarding what is being analyzed.”
“As mentioned, numerous times, it is standard practice to seek any video available from nearby residences or businesses, that is part of the ongoing investigation.”
Also on Saturday, police seized a vehicle parked inside Nancy’s garage, as well as a camera on her roof, after a neighbor submitted a tip.
A tow truck removed the vehicle — a blue Subaru SUV believed to be Nancy’s — on Friday, according to Fox News. The vehicle was said to have been taken to an impound lot near the Pima County Sheriff’s Office.
TMZ also reported on Saturday that a floodlight was seemingly removed from her back door.
On Tuesday, TMZ reported they received an alleged ransom note demanding millions in Bitcoin for Nancy’s return.
FBI Phoenix Special Agent Heith Janke revealed during a press conference earlier this week that a ransom note had been sent demanding a “transfer” be sent by a 5 p.m. MT deadline that day.
Savannah and her siblings previously addressed the matter in a social media video on Wednesday. “We need to know — without a doubt — that she is alive, and that you have her,” she said in part. “We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen.”
Following the passing of the first deadline Camron issued a video statement begging Nancy’s alleged captor to send proof that she’s alive.
