Heather McDonald recently made waves when she reported on the news about the tax debt that Teresa Giudice and Luis Ruelas are said to owe. Naturally, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star didn’t take too kindly to Heather’s commentary and blasted her. Now, Heather is responding to what Teresa had to say.

As fans know, Teresa, 52, and Luis, 51, are facing a massive debt. He owes a $1 million loan, and they also have $3 million in tax liens. Recently, Luis requested an extension to repay the loan and an additional $250,000. This is happening as the couple seemingly continues to live their lavish lifestyle. Notably, not only has Heather discussed their debt, but so have Bethenny Frankel and Margaret Josephs. 

Recently, Heather, 54, took to her Juicy Scoop podcast and responded to Teresa. She began, “So, Teresa is mad at me, of Teresa and Luis, because I reported on the story that was everywhere about their recent tax issues, which I have no doubt, it’s not a big deal according to Teresa.”

She continued, “According to Gia, it’s not a big deal and I shouldn’t have discussed it, in her opinion, because at one time, two years ago, we hung out and had lunch, and Luis did pay for the majority of a very nice, fancy lunch in Saint Barths. This is the infamous Saint Barths trip.”

Heather went on to say that she enjoyed the lunch and that there was a group of people there, rather than it only being the three of them. She stated that Luis ordered the champagne for the group.

Heather then said, “Since then, I have not really seen them or talked to them on the phone or anything, and as you know, my job does involve talking about pop culture and Bravo, and so yeah, I brought it up with my guest at the time that the story broke.”

She added, “My guest was Kate Casey, and I don’t censor my guest’s comments either, so there were her comments [as well]. This is a comedy interview pop culture show, and we do make fun of things that happen in pop culture and with reality stars.”

Heather then said, “However, she was hurt. She was pissed, and there’s been some talking about it, so I wanted to clear it up. I couldn’t remember if I said it on my regular show or my Patreon show, but I did say I wanna see them continue to be on TV. Maybe this isn’t a big deal, and it was an accounting error, okay, fine.”

She added in Teresa and Luis’ defense, “I also said that he is pleasant and fun to be around, but it’s an interesting story being that her life in the last 17 years has been being on a reality show, which is about aspirational luxury lifestyles. We know what happened with her former husband. We know that she unfortunately had to go and do time for a year, and then she’s been with Luis for quite a long time. Obviously, it’s a solid situation there, so I have no doubt that they’re going to stay together.”
