MTV’s The Hills ended 15 years ago, and it showcased the professional and personal lives of young people living in Los Angeles, California. For the first five seasons, it focused on Laguna Beach star Lauren Conrad’s life as she pursued a career in the fashion industry. However, the show would be nothing without her co-stars, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Lo Bosworth, and Kristin Cavallari.
With the show having ended so long ago, fans have wondered if these former co-stars kept in touch. Many of them continue to live in California, so it would be no surprise if they ran in the same circles.
In a recent interview, Brody gave fans an insight as to his friendships with his The Hills co-stars. While he admits to still speaking to a couple of his former co-stars every day, there are some he “never” speaks to.
Brody Jenner Remains Friends With A Few Of His The Hills Co-Stars
Brody And Spencer Pratt Are Childhood Friends
Brody Jenner made his first appearance on The Hills Season 2, coming into the series as “a friend” of Spencer Pratt. In the middle of the series, Brody and Spencer cut ties with one another when the former became good friends with Lauren Conrad, who had blamed Spencer and Heidi Montag for making up a lie that there was a sex tape of her and her ex.
After Lauren left the series after Season 5, the men mended their friendship. They were childhood friends and continued to work together on the show until its final sixth season. Brody and Spencer then appeared in the show’s reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings, which aired between 2019 and 2021. Since then, the men have remained close, but Brody can’t say the same for his other cast members.
In an interview with E! News, Brody was asked about his relationships with his former The Hills co-stars. When asked about Spencer, the son of Caitlyn Jenner, shared:
“I talk to Spencer almost every day.”
The reality TV star shared that he spoke to Spencer and his wife, Heidi Montag, now more than ever following the loss of their home in the devastating Palisades fire. “For what’s happened to them, they’re in a good place,” he said. Brody also shared that he also remains close to Frankie Delgado (who came onto The Hills as “a friend” of Brody’s in Season 3).
“It’s devastating for so many people, but they’re alive, and they have their health, they have their family. So, things are good,” Brody told the outlet.
Brody Jenner Has No Relationship With Lauren Conrad
Lauren Admitted To Have “A Crush” On Brody Jenner
When speaking with E! News, Brody also gave an update on his relationship with Lauren Conrad. On The Hills, it appeared that the two had a romantic relationship, but fans all know now that it was all faked as the show was heavily scripted. Sadly, Brody no longer has a relationship with his former co-star:
“Lauren, I never talked to,” Brody said. “I don’t think I’ve talked to her in 10 years.”
In the same interview, Brody also revealed that he no longer spoke to Audrina Patridge, either. “Audrina, I don’t really talk to anymore.”
Back in 2016, Lauren took part in an MTV special called The Hills: That Was Then, This Is Now. In her interview, she admitted to having a “crush on Brody,” but revealed that the two had “zero chemistry” and were better off as friends.
“We knew the cameras were making it look like more than it was and there was so much pressure on me at that point to get a boyfriend or date someone who was willing to film that I just sort of let them do whatever they wanted,” Lauren shared.
As the show played out, it was assumed that the two had some sort of romantic connection. The alternate ending of the finale of Season 6 of The Hills sees Brody saying goodbye to Kristin Cavallari and going over to Lauren’s apartment.
And, although Brody and Lauren don’t speak anymore, he had nothing but nice things to say about his former co-star. In a 2019 interview with ET to discuss The Hills reboot, he shared, “We never actually dated. In the beginning we had a little kind of chemistry and we hung out, and I think it played pretty well on screen. I think that they, the producers, really wanted us to keep that going, even though we just wanted to be friends.”
“But she’s great. We had a great time. It was so easy to work with her. It was so easy to film scenes with her and do stuff and act like we were [together], because we really did enjoy each other’s company. We really liked each other, just not in that romantic way.”
The Hills Alums Showed Support For Spencer Pratt And Heidi Montag By Streaming Her Music After They Lost Their Home
All Except For Lauren Conrad
Sadly, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag were one of many celebrities who lost their homes to the Palisades fires. As a result, Spencer took to TikTok where he posted content heavily, and even began a GoFundMe to try to make money and rebuild what they lost. The couple appeared on Good Morning America to share that despite being celebrities, they “were ‘house poor,’ as they call it. Like, we have a house, and everything else is a hustle, is a grind.”
Spencer also urged his social media followers to stream and download Heidi’s 2010 album Superficial. Amazingly, his post went viral, and his fans showed massive support. The album reached No. 1 on the iTunes chart.
In fact, several celebrities also showed their support for Spencer and Heidi, including his The Hills co-stars. Kristin shared a video on her TikTok promoting the song, while Brody Jenner also posted himself jamming out to Heidi’s song, captioning it, “POV: This is the only song you are streaming rn.”
Brody Jenner’s reality TV appearances:
- The Princes of Malibu (2005-2006)
- The Hills (2007-2010)
- Keeping Up with the Kardashians (2007-2015)
- The Hills: New Beginnings (2019-2021)
- Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Season 3 (2025)
Nearly all of Spencer and Heidi’s MTV co-stars took to social media to share that they had streamed Heidi’s music, including, Whitney Port and Lo Bosworth. However, the one co-star that has yet to share the same love was Lauren.
The Hills viewers remember quite well that Lauren’s relationship with Heidi and Spencer went south when the couple allegedly put out a story that Lauren had a sex tape. Even after the show concluded, Spencer and Heidi continued to bash Lauren in the press.
More recently, Speidi fans went after Lauren on her Instagram page for not supporting Heidi’s music, despite their fallout.
