Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s extravagant, star-studded wedding won’t cause disruptions in Venice, Italy, this summer.

In a statement, Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro denied reports that the couple booked numerous hotel rooms, gondolas and water taxis for their forthcoming nuptials.

“We are mutually working and supporting the organizers, to ensure that the event will be absolutely respectful of the fragility and uniqueness of the city,” the mayor said.

“The many speculations and fake news circulating about Jeff Bezos’ wedding are completely unfounded,” Brugnaro added, noting that it “is their utmost priority to make sure the city functions as normal, for all, with no abnormal disruption to anyone.”

Though 200 guests will be attending the ceremony, the city of Venice claimed it could handle the large number, citing past summits and other massive weddings that have taken place in the coastal region.

“Venice is used to being the stage for events and shows every week, without significant impacts,” Brugnaro added.

Though the exact date of when the luxe wedding will take place has not been publicly disclosed, Page Six was told that Bezos, 61, and Sánchez, 55, will say “I do” sometime this summer.

Last week, we reported that invites for the Amazon founder and the journalist’s nuptials were sent out to stars such as Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Ivanka Trump, Leonardo DiCaprio, Eva Longoria, Jewel and many more.

Though details about the lavish ceremony are scarce, the Daily Mail reported that it will take place aboard the couple’s $500 million megayacht.

However, other sources said the ship is only “involved” in the wedding. A “perfectly placed friend” told the outlet, “I promise you the wedding is not on the boat.”

Additionally, two of Venice’s best hotels, the Gritti Palace and Aman Venice, are completely booked from June 26 to June 29.

Bezos proposed to Sánchez in May 2023 after five years of dating.

Experts told Page Six that the 20-carat diamond ring the billionaire gave the “The Fly Who Flew to Space” author was estimated to be worth a whopping $2.5 million.
