SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — This Wednesday, April 1, marks “Illinois Trooper Day,” a day dedicated to honoring every Illinois State Police officer who has lost their life while serving.
According to a joint press release from the State Police, the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois Tollway, and the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation, memorial signs will be installed along Illinois roadways to pay tribute to each fallen trooper’s ultimate sacrifice for the state.
