Bobbi Althoff recently shared how a mishap with Botox has impacted her smile, leaving her with temporary facial paralysis.

“It’s been two weeks since the Botox incident, and I want to show you my updated smile,” Althoff, 28, explained in a video on her Instagram Stories on Monday, November 17. “The doctor refunded the cost, which was around $1,600, even though he claimed no error on his part.”

Demonstrating her limited smile to the camera, Althoff expressed her frustration: “This is as wide as I can smile. I’m really upset because I had planned to take family photos this winter, and now I can’t smile properly. It’s incredibly frustrating because I feel helpless.”

Her latest update follows her initial disclosure of the paralysis in a TikTok video on November 9.

Meanwhile, Remi Bader is keeping things real. The 30-year-old influencer shared her own Botox experience on her Instagram Story on Sunday, October 5. In one clip, she showcased her forehead muscles before the procedure, captioning it, “Hahahahaha. Pre-forehead Botox,” and tagging her New York City injector.

“Morning, guys, apparently I do not learn from my mistakes, because I like to repeat them, just to make sure that it was a mistake the first time. But if you’re wondering, ‘Bobbi, why can’t your face move?’ Well, let me tell you why,” Althoff began.

Althoff revealed that she first received “20 units of Botox” in her chin in November 2023, which made her unable to smile for several weeks. Though she initially vowed never to get the injections again, she recently changed her mind when she began experiencing “bad jaw problems.”

Althoff said she decided to see a TMJ specialist, who recommended that she get Botox in her jaw for pain relief.

“I was like, ‘Yeah, but I’ve had a bad experience with Botox. I don’t know, I’m a little bit scared to do Botox,’” she continued. “And he’s like, ‘No, this will really help.’ And when you combine it with a bunch of other stuff that he had me do …”

Althoff said she was alarmed when the doctor recommended that they do “100 units” of Botox.

“He’s like, ‘We’re gonna do 100 units,’ has me sign a waiver. And when he said 100 units, I was like, ‘That feels like a lot. I’ve had a really bad experience, and I was like, ‘That won’t change my face at all?’” she recalled.

Althoff added that the doctor reassured her that she wouldn’t “notice” a physical difference.

Althoff ultimately accepted the treatment and received 25 units of Botox in each of her temples, which caused her eyes to “look like they’re frozen.” Meanwhile, the remaining units in her chin made her unable to smile.

“Something’s wrong. I don’t know what it is, but something’s not moving right. I can’t tell you what it is,” the mom of two said, adding that she woke up two days in a row with migraines and has a lisp when speaking.

Althoff said she contacted her dentist about her struggles with eating and talking after the procedure, who told her that the Botox could take three months to wear off.

“I can feel all this tension just right in here. It just hurts,” Althoff concluded, gesturing to her cheekbones. “I’m afraid of what it’s gonna change in my face, but I can’t do anything. So for the next three months, I’m just gonna f***ing look stupid.”
