Eamonn Holmes appears to be navigating some challenges in his relationship, despite making significant efforts for his partner, Katie Alexander, who is 43. The GB News presenter began dating the marriage counsellor following his separation from his wife and former ITV co-host, Ruth Langsford.
In an attempt to maintain the relationship, Holmes is reportedly making discreet adjustments. According to a source quoted by The Sun: “Eamonn behaves as if they’re still in the honeymoon period. It’s essentially an earnest effort to keep Katie content. She has been his support during a particularly tough time, and he dreads the thought of losing her. After his departure from ITV and the ensuing drama involving Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Eamonn has become more selective about who he trusts.” The source added, “He had Ruth’s trust for 27 years, but their breakup profoundly affected his perceptions of those around him. He now realizes how rapidly people can change and is eager to ensure Katie knows she’s central to his life.”
During the Christmas season, Eamonn and Katie retreated to the luxurious Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, for a relaxing getaway.
On the other hand, Ruth Langsford has recently discussed their unexpected separation in 2023. In an interview with Woman & Home magazine, she revealed that she began therapy following their split and continues to find it beneficial.
She expressed, “Therapy is incredibly powerful and valuable. It provides me with tools to manage things. Ending a long-term relationship involves a lot of unraveling. Counselling assists in moving forward, preventing past experiences from holding you back.”
Despite Eamonn moving swiftly on with Katie, Ruth has remained single and focused on her work commitments, including appearances on Loose Women and QVC.
As sources close to Eamonn claimed that he is keen to make his relationship work, no matter the cost, as he continues to struggle with issues that impact his mobility.
Eamonn admitted to urgently needing the toilet since suffering spinal issues over recent years as he told GB News co-host Ellie Costello: “I’m getting over a medical condition, and I just can’t wait. And then (Mandelson) was in the street. But what else is the man to do? Knock on someone’s door and say, ‘Would you let me go and have a pee in your house?’
“Most people are going to say, ‘How dare you? I’m not going to do that’, so I’m saying there is a difficulty in public about where you actually go to relieve yourself. That’s the thing.”
