Good Morning Britain presenter Ben Shephard has been on screens since 1998, having launched his broadcasting career by hosting Channel 4’s The Bigger Breakfast. As well as the panel news programme, the 51-year-old is also best known for fronting This Morning and ITV’s game show, Tipping Point. While much of his career has been on screen, Ben keeps his marriage to his wife, Annie Perks, largely out of the spotlight. Although they have made red carpet appearances together, the couple maintain a private life with their two sons, Sam, 20, and Jack, 18.

Ben Shephard, a familiar face on Good Morning Britain, has charmed audiences since 1998. He kicked off his television journey with Channel 4’s The Bigger Breakfast. Over the years, the 51-year-old has become synonymous with hosting This Morning and ITV’s popular game show, Tipping Point. Despite his on-screen presence, Ben prefers to keep his marriage to Annie Perks away from the public eye. Though they occasionally grace the red carpet, the couple enjoys a quiet life with their sons, Sam, 20, and Jack, 18.

Their enduring romance began during their university days at the University of Birmingham. Annie pursued Philosophy, while Ben graduated with a degree in Dance, Drama, and Theatre Arts. They started dating in 1995, eventually tying the knot in 2004. The couple settled in Richmond, London, but decided to sell their home last year.

Speaking about his marriage, Ben previously revealed that Annie has consistently shown patience with the pressures of his career and their life together.

The demands went so far as to delay their honeymoon due to a potential work opportunity, as he told Men’s Health: “She’s always been understanding about those kinds of things.”

Reflecting on his marriage, Ben has shared that Annie’s unwavering patience has been a cornerstone in navigating the demands of his career and their family life.

Annie, who is an interior design consultant, previously gave fans a glimpse of their stunning garden and shared: “I’ve been building this garden myself for three years. It’s a labour of love.”

However, the family of four have since offloaded the property, which was said to have sold for £5.3million and purchased a Grade II home for £3.5 million.

Given the presenter’s priority on health and fitness, he admitted to the publication: “My wife does most of the cooking.” As he noted: “And I’m turning around saying, ‘I’ve got to have enough protein.’”

However, Ben added, they now share an unconventional “agreement” to strike the perfect balance.

He added: “We came up with an agreement, I’d get what I needed during the day, so I could enjoy our dinners together. You can leave stuff out that you don’t necessarily want, but we still want to share that moment in the evening.”

The 51-year-old famously appeared on the cover of Men’s Health’s in 2025, putting his chiselled abs on display to a plethora of adoring fans.

However, it was his wife’s hilarious reaction to the photos, which stuck with him as Ben recounted: “The first thing she said when she saw the photos was, ‘AI’s amazing these days.’

“As long as I’m happy and can put the bins out on time, and help with matching up socks and putting them away, and be with family to enjoy each other’s company.”
