In a recent statement, Shawn clarified the situation regarding his Instagram follows, particularly concerning divorce coaches like David Mac and Nawal Houghton. He spoke candidly about his marriage to the 52-year-old star of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, aiming to set the record straight.
“With all the assumptions and ongoing speculation, I feel the need to clarify my social media behavior,” Shawn told Reality Shrine on January 2. “This has nothing to do with Angie. Someone close to me is experiencing a difficult time, and they share pages with me that resonate with their situation. It’s as straightforward as that. Nothing more, nothing less. We understand we’re in the public eye.”
Angie, who wed Shawn at the age of 21, initially joined the RHOSLC cast as a “friend” during its third season in 2022. Her role was elevated to a full-time position the following year, a status she has maintained in subsequent seasons.

“Moving forward, I will be more thoughtful on who the internet trolls see. I continue to be astonished by people without a true purpose. I take full responsibility for my naivety when it comes [to] thinking the best [of] people,” Shawn continued.
As RHOSLC fans may have seen, Shawn previously released a statement to Reality Shrine after it was revealed that he was following several conservatives, including Joe Rogan, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Dana White, Lara Trump, and the late Charlie Kirk.
“I’m not far right,” he declared. “It’s nonsense. I gather info. Both right and left but for some reason they only pick up on the right. Everything that is being talked about is all based on assumptions.”
“None of these people bring up the fact that I follow CNN and [Anderson Cooper] or Van Jones. Add Bill Maher,” he added.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season six airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
