Inside Hugh Jackman’s ‘difficult’ dynamic with estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness, according to pal

Hugh Jackman’s friend is filling fans in on the actor’s behalf.

Australian radio personalityGus Worland spoke out after Jackman’s estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, broke her silence about a “betrayal” in their marriage.

“It’s not just that statement, but the last couple of years have been difficult,” the “Wolverine” star’s childhood pal said on “Ben Fordham Live” Thursday.

“No one wants anyone to go through what they’ve been through,” Worland, 56, added. “Of course, they go through everything publicly because of the type of people and fame that they have.”

Worland is, notably, the godparents to Jackman and Furness’ son Oscar, 25, and daughter Ava, 19 — and is being intentional about “mak[ing] sure that they’re going to get through this as well as possible.”

As for Jackman, Worland claimed his elementary school buddy, now 56, is “fine” and “going along well.”

He added, “He’s moving on with his life and I hope that Deb does as well.”

Reps for Jackman and Furness did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

The Emmy winner is in a relationship with his “Music Man” co-star Sutton Foster, with the actress even recently moving her belongings into his New York City penthouse.

Page Six broke the news of their romance in October 2024, one year after Furness and Jackman announced their split.

In September 2023, the exes wrote, “We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

They insisted that was the “sole statement either of [them would] make.”

While Furness did not initially address Jackman’s new romance last year, her friend Amanda de Cadenet called an Instagram upload “on point” that alleged the “Greatest Showman” star had an affair.

Furness hinted at this in her viral statement to the Daily Mail Tuesday.

“My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,” she wrote, in part, of her “profound wound that cuts deep.”

Furness continued, “Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose.”

She filed for divorce on May 23.
