Bethenny Frankel revealed more details behind the “traumatic” cast trip to Cartagena, Colombia in season 10 – which showcased the infamous ‘boat ride from hell.’ The star also revealed that she and her daughter are moving to Florida for “personal” reasons.

Recently, Bethenny, 54, shared a life update about her upcoming move.

“I am moving to Florida for personal and professional reasons,” she said on Instagram. “Something has arisen that made this the best and healthiest decision for myself and my daughter. We will maintain residences in the Hamptons and New York City because we love New York, but this will be our primary and permanent residence.”

“This will be my backyard,” she added, as the video cut to a stunning view of the ocean.

Meanwhile, sources tell Us Weekly that Bethenny’s 14-yr-old daughter Bryn Hoppy played a major role in her decision to move.

“Bryn is Bethenny’s top priority, and the decision to move to Florida was all about supporting her,” a source close to Bethenny told the outlet. “The move reflects Bryn’s academic and athletic goals, and was made with her physical and emotional well-being front and center.”

In more Bethenny news, she also dished on the infamous Real Housewives of New York City trip, during which she and her costars seemingly feared for their lives as giant waves shook the boat en route back to the house. Objects flew into the water, and some castmates faced seasickness.

On an April 17 Instagram post, Bethenny addressed the cast trip, which was organized by Tinsley Mortimer.

“The trip was owned by Tinsley … [and] the person who owns the trip always feels like it’s a reflection upon them, and Tinsley hadn’t been there that long, so she felt personally responsible for anything that was going on,” said Bethenny. “So [after] the boat situation, she’d be like, ‘It wasn’t that bad’ … because she was feeling like it was a reflection of her having been there before.”

“The house was disgusting,” she went on. “It was like an outside house inside. So when you walked around the house, your feet got black. Now no one would say anything because we were all really afraid … [to be] the person complaining … [because] everyone’s [going to call you] spoiled.”

She then shared why the boat ride went askew.

“There was just something shoddy about everything we were doing [on the trip],” she said. “And on the boat, what happened was we came back from this island that we went to that was amazing … [but] we left too late. They kept telling us, I think, we had to leave. Or no one made us leave on time.”

Bethenny said the waves became “insane,” and someone noticed there were only a few life-vests.

“[At] one point we smelled burning because the anchor was stuck to the bottom and it was pulling us in the boat so they had to cut the anchor with it … with a knife,” she explained. “And we were screaming and freaking out, and it was really really traumatic. It was bad. Ramona was freaking because she can’t swim. The crew was freaking out.”

According to Bethenny, after they got home, she pulled aside a producer and called the network.

“I was the squeaky wheel and I was calling up the flagpole. That was a major major liability,” said the star, who suggested that the “powers that be” acted like it wasn’t “really bad.”

“Because it’s their a**,” she said. “It was [a] complete liability but everyone was drinking the Kool-Aid and in the cult. And like what was anyone gonna do? … That was way crazier than Scary Island.”
