HGTV has been canceling a lot of great reality TV shows lately, but is Rehab Addict one of them? Fears regarding the future of the show began when it was removed from the programming schedule, and fans immediately assumed the worst (the latest premiere was on June 24, and after two episodes, the time slot was replaced by My Lottery Dream Home). So, what is happening with Rehab Addict?

The answer came in the form of host Nicole Curtis, who addressed the chatter surrounding the show and whether it had been canceled. She did this when she posted a video on Instagram on July 13.

What did Nicole Curtis Say About ‘Rehab Addict?’

The short clip shows Curtis enjoying the fresh air, and she appears to be on a boat. The text overlay gives some insight into what’s happening, as it reads: “You look so much happier. Thanks, I moved Rebab Addict to Fall Airdates.”

Curtis wrote a lengthy caption to accompany her video, beginning by thanking fans for making the show so successful and encouraging those who had not seen the first two episodes to stream them. She also revealed what was going on and why fans no longer saw Rehab Addict as part of the summer schedule.

“I made the executive decision to shelf the rest of our new shows until Fall. I appreciate your support and understanding for the late notice,” she wrote. “It’s just a lot of hours (my hours) to get a show on air and we (my family +me) thought -why are we giving up Summer when we have the ability to do this in the Fall? Thank you to the powers at be at HGTV that were receptive to our idea.” She also discussed how the decision to move the dates to later in the year had made her much happier and more relaxed.

Curtis continued, “They are airing Lottery Dream Home in my place. Fun fact, David Bromstead was my pregnancy beach buddy as we were filming and living next to each other in Gulf Shores Alabama for Beach Flip (they just added those episodes to HboMax and Discovery+) So, don’t be spreading rumors that he replaced me-I chose it.”

Fans React To ‘Rehab Addict’ Update

Fans have flooded the comment section with messages, sharing their happiness that the series is not disappearing (the show first aired in 2010 and has enjoyed immense success). “Just watched the second episode tonight. I loved that family, too! So touching to see them walk through that house and see it done authentically!” a fan wrote of the first two episodes of Season 9.

“Well I’ve started binging all your old seasons on Max so that’s something to look forward to!!,” another shared.

Fans have also asked Curtis questions, including how many episodes are expected in the upcoming season. “How many more episodes are planned to be released in the fall? The last two weren’t enough. I also love how much you have HGTV in a chokehold,” a fan wrote. To which Curtis replied, writing, “I mean, I’m a little tricky like that so I might throw in a few extra.” This is good news for fans of the show!

In a follow-up post made on July 14, Curtis informed fans that a new air date had not yet been chosen. She also encouraged fans to stream the older episodes while they wait for more of Season 9 to air.
