Savannah Chrisley rose to fame as the daughter of Todd and Julie Chrisley, renowned real estate moguls. The Chrisley family became household names through their reality TV series, Chrisley Knows Best, which offered viewers a glimpse into their professional and personal lives.
The series, however, came to an unexpected halt when Todd and Julie were convicted of fraud and incarcerated. Amidst advocating for her parents’ freedom, Savannah has also turned her attention to another potential reality TV endeavor.
During the latest episode of her podcast, Unlocked, Savannah revealed some exciting news. She announced that she had been offered a co-hosting position on the popular morning talk show, The View, for a week. This iconic show, conceived by Barbara Walters in 1997, is known for its diverse panel of women engaging in discussions on a wide array of topics.
Savannah Will Be A Guest Host On The View
Savannah broke the news on the most recent episode of her podcast, Unlocked, where she explained that she had been invited to be a co-host on the morning talk show The View for a week. The show was originally created in 1997 by Barbara Walters and is famously hosted by a panel of women who discuss a variety of topics.
Oftentimes, the hosts featured on The View don’t agree with one another on certain topics. In her podcast episode, Savannah noted that the current hosts of The View—Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, Alyssa Farrah Griffin, Ana Navarro, and Sara Haines—had spoken poorly of her family in the past, but that she remained excited about the opportunity nonetheless:
I’m so excited for that because I love doing things that challenge me, and I like doing things that educate me. I mean, these personalities have bashed my family, have bashed me. These are the same women who made a comment to the extent of, ‘Wonder what she had to do for those pardons.’
Savannah’s comments refer to how she had to appeal to President Donald Trump in order for her parents to get a pardon—fans of Chrisley Knows Best will recall that her mother and father were convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud back in June 2022.
Originally, Todd and Julie were sentenced to a total of twelve and seven years in jail, respectively. However, the President ended up issuing them a pardon, and they were able to return home to their family, allowing them to resume filming the tenth season of their reality show.
Savannah herself appears to have stayed close with the President, often posting about her support for him and his initiatives. She even shared photos on her Instagram of him officially signing her parents’ release papers, clearly indebted to him.
The View Hosts Criticized Todd And Julie Chrisley
Prior to the news of Savannah joining The View, some of the hosts did speak out about their thoughts on Todd and Julie’s pardon. Joy Behar, in particular, didn’t hold back in voicing how unfair she thought the situation was.
Joy shared how she thought Todd and Julie’s fame afforded them a privilege that most people wouldn’t have received:
According to this administration, if you are a reality star with a lot of money, and a tax cheat, and you commit fraud, then that’s good. We’re going to give you a pardon. But poor people on Medicaid or food stamps, according to this administration, are the real moochers.
Joy’s take was aired back in a May episode of the show, meaning several months have passed since the Chrisleys have come up on the show. While Savannah has acknowledged that she may have different beliefs from some of the other hosts, only time will tell what their interactions will be like.
