Jimmie Allen could be headlining shows but, instead he’s making been headlines after being sued for sexual assault by his former manager and splitting from his wife Alexis Gale. But it all seems strange— at least the timing of everything. First, the sudden split from his wife and—weeks later, shocking allegations of sexual assault have settled on the horizon for the “Best Shot” singer. It’s hard not to think that, somehow, there’s an immediate correlation between the two events.
Allen was once deemed one of the good guys. His charm and talent won fans over in the music industry as one of the many trailblazing black artists that are diversifying mainstream country music. He even stood by country artist Morgan Wallen, whose controversial use of a racial slur jeopardized his career. But now, Allen’s career hangs in limbo as the drama of his affair—and crumbling marriage—begin to infect his reputation.
Jimmie Allen And Alexis Gale Announce Split And Baby On The Way
It was a major shocker when Jimmie Allen and his wife Alexis Gale announced they were separating back in April 2023, after two years of marriage. Allen and Gale had tied the knot on May 27, 2021, at The Lake House Inn in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. What’s more is that along with the announcement of their separation Allen, 37, and Gale, 27, disclosed via Instagram that they were also expecting another child together later in 2023.
“After much thought and reflection in recent months, Lex & I have made the decision to separate,” Allen wrote. “As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will be welcoming another child together later this year.”
“Our number one priority is and always will be ensuring that our children are healthy, happy and loved, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another,” he continued. “In light of our growing family, we respectfully request privacy during this time.”
While the announcement of a baby on the way would normally be great news, their announcement seemed rather confusing. Why would, at the height of something as monumental as a growing family, would the couple announce that they were calling it quits? It was especially strange as the former pair— who share three children together— previously stated that they didn’t plan to add more members to the Allen clan. Back in 2022, Allen revealed he was “retired” from having any more kids.
“I retired my jersey,” he said, explaining that his wife is also in support of this decision. “We threw around the idea of maybe having another one in like four years, we thought about it, we tossed around the idea. And then we closed the idea.”
“It was actually her idea,” Allen told People. “Cause when it comes to babies, you know guys, we got the fun part … women gotta carry the baby. Give birth to the baby. And ’cause she’s told [people] before she doesn’t mind giving birth, it’s the pregnancy part that’s normally gonna be hard on her.”

Jimmie Allen’s Former Manager Accuses Him Of Assault
The hits just kept on coming for Allen who, earlier this month, was being sued by his former manager for sexual assault. The woman, known as “Jane Doe”, has alleged that the singer repeatedly raped and harassed her over an 18-month period, referring to it as a “torrential cycle” of abuse. According to Variety, a lawsuit was filed this month in federal court in Tennessee, accusing Allen, 37, of sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, sex trafficking and emotional distress.
In the lawsuit, the woman alleged Allen raped her during a trip to Los Angeles when he filmed a 2021 episode of American Idol as a celebrity guest, claiming she woke up in bed after a business dinner, in pain and bleeding, to discover she had lost her virginity without consent. “I was disconnected from my body, feeling a sense of panic,” she told. Variety. Disoriented and confused, she says she remembers Allen saying, “‘I’ve been thinking about this for so long.’” She adds, “He held me in place. At that point, any physical will was just out the door. I was pretty much paralyzed.”
While Allen did admit to having a sexual relationship with the plaintiff, the Grammy-nominated singer claims that their interaction was entirely consensual. In a statement, Allen called the allegations “deeply troubling” and said he was shocked to see them come from one of his “closest friends, colleagues and confidants,” who he said he had a consensual sexual relationship with.
“During that time, she never once accused me of any wrongdoing, and she spoke of our relationship and friendship as being something she wanted to continue indefinitely,” he said. “Only after things ended between us, did she hire a lawyer to reach out and ask for money, which leads me to question her motives.”
The woman’s attorney has since contested this, denying that any monetary demand was made, and that instead a meeting was requested to discuss the allegations. “The response was a hard no, and coloured with threats that his team would take steps to publicly tarnish my client,” the rebuttal said. “My client had no choice but to be proactive in protecting herself by filing the complaint.”
Jimmie Allen Apologizes To His Wife Alexis For Exposed Affair
It hasn’t been confirmed, but fans can’t help but wonder whether Jimmie Allen’s affair with his former manager could be the reason for his sudden split from wife Alexis Gale. The slew of sexual assault allegations combined with his infidelity seem like the recipe for divorce indeed. The country star has since issued a public apology to his estranged wife via Instagram. “I want to publicly apologize to my wife Alexis for humiliating her with my affair. I’m embarrassed that my choices have brought shame on her. That’s something that she did not deserve at all,” Allen began in the lengthy Instagram post.
“I also want to apologize to my children for being a poor example of a man and a father. I’m working on becoming a better person that my kids can be proud of. My goal is to be better than the generation before me,” he continued.
The 37-year-old country star added, “The business takes so much from you. It’s full of temptations that can cripple you and ruin everything you’ve built. I’m ashamed that I wasn’t strong enough to withstand them. I will no longer be a victim of my weaknesses.”
“I challenge everyone to seek help when they need it. Do not be afraid of your weakness, surround yourself with people that WILL help you. Be Blessed,” he concluded.
