Richard Hammond’s daughter Izzy shared her true feelings about her Top Gear star dad in a cheeky Instagram message, paying tribute to the TV presenter on Father’s Day. Izzy posted a sweet picture of the dad-and-daughter duo together on the back of a motorbike, both grinning at the camera.
In the caption, Izzy wrote of the Grand Tour presenter: “Recently, people have decided that I think you’re an idiot. I do not. I think you’re a t***. Happy Father’s Day. Hope you don’t mind me giving the whole car thing a go. Love ya!” Accompanying the snap was a video of Izzy as a youngster telling her dad he’s “funny”, and she joked: “Swipe to see me and Rich chatting rubbish on telly 20 years ago. Not much has changed.”
Fans rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts, with one writing: “Absolutely adorable! So glad he got you into cars.” Another echoed: “I love watching you guys on vlogs and listening to your podcast. You often crack me up. Such a beautiful dad daughter relationship!”
A third fan posted: “You’ve got a cool dad!” while another wrote: “Your dad is a super guy. Love that you guys work together and enjoy cars.”
Izzy, 24, and Richard, 55, host a podcast together, Who We Are Now, and she regularly stars in videos on her dad’s YouTube platform DriveTribe. Officially describing herself as a content creator, Izzy joined the Red Bull Formula 1 team last year and is used to working on TV like her father.
Richard also shares younger daughter Willow with his estranged wife Mindy. The pair tied the knot in 2002 but announced their split in January 2025 after 28 years of marriage.
His co-star Jeremy Clarkson also has two grown-up daughters, Emily and Katya, as well as son Finlo.
