Despite having 500 guests at her wedding, Jana Wissman (née Duggar) managed to make it still seem like a “small” and “intimate” family affair, sisters Jinger Vuolo (née Duggar) and Joy-Anna Forsyth (née Duggar) revealed.
“Jana and Stephen’s wedding was a lot of fun,” Jinger, 31, gushed during the Wednesday, March 18, episode of the “The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast,” where Joy-Anna, 27, joined in for nearly an hour of family Q&A.
While admitting it was a “massive family gathering” at the August 15, 2024, ceremony, Jinger said, “The wedding was small in our minds.”
“How many was it? 500?” Jinger asked Joy-Anna, adding, “Yeah, but for Duggar weddings … and then she also married into a large family,” referring to Jana’s husband Stephen Wissmann having 13 siblings.

“So even just with our two families coming together, there were a lot of people,” Jinger said of the nuptials held at The Grand at Willow Springs in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, where Jana, 35, and Stephen, 31, tied the knot.
“She kept it more intimate, and so it felt like you were able to get around, talk to people,” the Becoming Free Indeed author continued. “Our closest friends were there … who we grew up with, and it was such a sweet time.”
“So, I feel like whenever you have those moments where everybody’s back together, It’s super special. And then you have your old friends, the crew, all these people … I don’t know, there was something really sweet about Jana and Stephen’s wedding that I loved,” Jinger shared, as Joy-Anna added, “For sure.”
Jana thrilled fans when she became the last adult Duggar sister to get married, despite being the family’s oldest girl among 19 brothers and sisters.
The home renovator revealed in a September 2020 episode of Counting On that questions about why she was still single had gotten “old.”
“Sometimes it can get a little, like, what? It’s not the only thing in the world to talk about,” Jana said in a confessional at the time. “As for now it’s nice, I get to do a lot of different things, but … I mean, I wouldn’t mind it. There are those moments with, like, all the different couples are hanging out.”
“People here and there … they feel bad for me! I’m like, ‘Whatever’” Jana told producers. “They’re like, ‘Hey, I have a nephew,’ or ‘I have a cousin.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, thanks.’ Some are like, ‘Oh man, are you picky?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t think so!’”
Jana and Stephen were first linked in December 2020, although they ended up going their separate ways before secretly reuniting in 2024.
“It was like, ‘What are we doing? We still enjoy each other. We still really appreciate each other,’” Jana recalled to People two days ahead of her wedding to Stephen.
“I had been a slower mover on it, but just over time, his character, his coming back, still loving me no matter what,” she continued about how the pair got back together. “I know we have a big crazy family and still kind of putting up with a lot of things. I’m like, my goodness, there are not too many people that do that. He must really, genuinely care about me.”
