Jax Taylor is leaving The Valley after two seasons.
Following what he describes as an “incredibly challenging year,” which saw him entering rehab for cocaine addiction as his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, 36, filed for divorce, Jax, 46, has officially confirmed that he will not be featured when the show returns to Bravo for season three.
“After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,” Jax said in a statement to Us Weekly on July 16. “Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.”
Jax and Brittany welcomed son Cruz, now 4, in April 2021, two years after tying the knot. Since then, the couple has faced a number of relationship challenges, which resulted in their January 2024 breakup.
As their split continues to play out on The Valley, with Jax’s abusive behavior towards Brittany on full display, fans have called for the former Vanderpump Rules star to be fired ahead of season three. There was even a petition launched on Change.org.
“Jax Taylor, a prominent figure in reality television, particularly known for his role in the popular series Vanderpump Rules, has repeatedly exhibited behavior that is deeply concerning and offensive,” the petition stated. “His actions have not only disrespected individuals and communities, but they also perpetuate harmful stereotypes, bullying, and negativity that have no place in today’s progressive society.”
“It is crucial that networks and producers take responsibility by disengaging from promoting such behavior,” it added.
The petition was signed by nearly 14,000 people. And when Reality Blurb polled readers, 91 percent agreed that Jax should not be welcomed back to the series.
The Valley season two airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
