Jax Taylor shared his “biggest regret” as he addressed how his marriage to Brittany Cartwright “ran its course.” The star also hinted at his “codependency” issues, and how the audience loves to see him “spiral.”

On the new season of The Valley, Jax went to rehab for an addiction to cocaine and alcohol. When he left, Jax was quickly served divorce papers. Throughout the divorce, he’s fought continually with his ex.

In a July 8 interview for the “We’re Out of Time” podcast, Jax shared how he feels about reality TV.

“TV is where I was supposed to be,” he said. “I think I found my niche. I think I’m good at what I do. I love being on TV. Has it made my life better and worse? Sure. You know, you’re gonna have your highs and lows.”

“People love to watch what I’m gonna do next. They don’t care. They love to see the spiral,” he said. “Now is that good? Probably not.”

He revealed that his “biggest regret” is how he handled the divorce with Brittany.

“[But] I don’t regret getting a divorce or going through a divorce. No, because it needed to be done,” he said. “It ran its course.”

“I think my codependency issues are a problem. I think being lonely is an issue,” he continued. “Learning to adapt to loneliness, I have a hard time with that. Being comfortable in my own skin is tough for me right now. Again, I’m new into this. I don’t have years [of sobriety] under my belt. I need structure. I thrive on it.”

Earlier this year, Jax revealed he went to rehab twice.

“The first time, I kind of put up a little bit of a fight. This [second] one, I was like, ‘You’re right.’ I didn’t put up a fight. I’m like, ‘I gotta go back,’” Jax explained on Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast at the time.

“I didn’t stay the full time,” he went on. “I ended up staying 17 days. I felt like, for me, that was enough. I was like, ‘You know what? Another 14 days is not gonna do anything. I know that I’m good. I’m OK.’ I just needed to get back and be OK for a second.”
