Andy Cohen seems perpetually busy dispelling rumors about who will or won’t be part of the Real Housewives series. The latest buzz surrounding the Bravo franchise involves the potential departure of one of its stars, possibly for good.
Indeed, Jenna Lyons has decided to step away from The Real Housewives of New York after two seasons on the show. True to her style, Jenna parted ways with grace, expressing gratitude for her stint in reality TV.
Jenna shared this development with her fans through her Instagram account. She explained that, despite being invited to join the cast for Season 16, she thoughtfully concluded that the show no longer aligned with her current life journey.
Jenna Chose Not To Join RHONY Season 16
Jenna took to her personal Instagram page to explain the news to her curious followers. She noted that, while she had been approached to join the cast of Season 16, after thinking about it seriously, she no longer felt like the show was serving her and the current chapter of her life.
The fashion powerhouse explained that, because she didn’t want certain elements of her private life to be filmed, she felt she wouldn’t be a valuable member of the cast:
And after thinking it through, I have made the difficult decision not return to the show… I would be the oldest and only openly gay woman on the show and feel like this is an opportunity for a new dynamic to emerge.
Though she won’t be onscreen, however, Jenna promised that she would still be tuning into new episodes—and that she hoped the outfit criticism would also continue.
Jenna Expressed Her Gratitude For The Show
Jenna’s departure from the show surely comes as a bittersweet change. In the same post on her Instagram, she gushed about how positive her RHONY experience had been:
I have so much respect and gratitude to the Entire BRAVO team who produced the show with grace and care… I am so grateful to [Andy Cohen] for the opportunity and support… I am grateful to Sezin for always treating us with so much respect and kindness… I am grateful to the entire team at SHED who handled all of our nonsense and egos with patience… And most importantly to all the fans who have said hi on the street, asked for a photo, supported me here on Instagram.
“THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!- it’s so incredibly meaningful,” she signed off, ending her post with a row of emoji hearts.
