According to a source speaking to In Touch, Lopez is feeling the pressure to maintain her own popularity and believes that joining forces with Bad Bunny could be the perfect move. “She’s considering all possibilities, whether it’s a duet or a live performance,” the source shared.
The Puerto Rican rapper, at 31, has been making headlines with his impressive accomplishments. Earlier this month, he bagged three Grammy Awards on February 1 and then took the spotlight again by headlining the Super Bowl halftime show the following week.
Bad Bunny’s recent achievements have been groundbreaking. His album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, made history by becoming the first Spanish-language album to win the coveted Album of the Year award. Furthermore, his performance at the Super Bowl marked a significant milestone as he became the first artist to predominantly perform in Spanish during the iconic event.
He made history at both events: Debí Tirar Más Fotos became the first Spanish-language record to take home Album of the Year, while Bad Bunny himself was the first artist to perform primarily in Spanish at the championship football game.
The musician also helped the NFL notch its three most-viewed social media posts of all-time, according to Variety.
In contrast, Lopez, 56, has reportedly struggled with ticket sales and been dropped by her record label.
“She’s planning to invite Benito and his whole entourage for a party at her place so they can get to know each other better,” reveals the source. “He’s a big fan of hers, so no doubt he will say yes to whatever she wants.”
Bad Bunny would seemingly be returning the favor — the “All I Have” singer invited the then-lesser-known performer to appear as a guest when she coheadlined the Super Bowl halftime show with Shakira in 2020.
