Potential patrons who are struggling to secure a reservation at Jeremy Clarkson’s bustling pub need not fret – as the former Top Gear presenter has provided a comforting update.

Since The Farmer’s Dog opened last summer, with its journey showcased on Clarkson’s popular Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm, the Oxfordshire haunt has seen an overwhelming surge in demand for tables.

With demand at an all-time high, Clarkson stepped in to reassure his followers that all hope is not lost for those unable to snag a spot in advance.

Taking to Instagram, he encouraged: “If you can’t get a reservation at the Farmer’s Dog, don’t worry. Come along anyway. Head to the tent in the garden, grab a pint and something to eat and sit outside.”

Continuing, the presenter went on: “The food’s brilliant and the view will make your hair itch. It’s amazing. Bring the dog. And the kids. Or don’t.”

A video accompanying his post displayed delicious offerings from the pub and gave viewers a peek at the welcoming bar and garden area, complete with a sign cheekily stating: “You’ve seen the show, now you’re eating the cast!”.

Hoping to dine at The Farmer’s Dog in Burford? Plan ahead for lunch, dinner, or Sunday roast reservations, but act swiftly as they are exceedingly sought-after.

For those less fortunate in their reservation quest, there’s always the chance to feast at The Farmer’s Puppy, a food truck serving up British farmed and sourced food and beverages right next to the Farmer’s Dog pub garden.

The pub’s website boasts: “We’ve got everything from our award-winning Hawkstone to delicious burgers.”

Kitchen hours are from 9.30am to 3pm Tuesday through Thursday, and for the more leisurely weekend diner, 9.30am to 4pm Friday to Sunday.

Snacks from the series are available at the Diddly Squat Farm Shop outpost within the pub. Meanwhile, Hops and Chops, Clarkson’s blend of a butcher and bottle shop, showcases the “finest British-reared and farmed meat”.

Fans have been quick to share their glowing reviews of Clarkson’s venture online. One enthusiast commented on his video: “Best from The Cotswolds as always.”

Another fan was keen to share: “It looks perfection and if your good self were there, bliss! Worth a trip from Wales definitely.”

A third admirer succinctly summed it up with: “The most incredible restaurant, the food, service, venue! Can’t wait to come back!!”.
