In a rare moment of unity, Jill and Jinger Duggar have reconnected with their mother, Michelle Duggar, and several of their sisters for a family photo that has captured the public’s attention. This comes after years of being in the spotlight due to headlines and autobiographies.
The duo, who each released memoirs two years ago, were recently seen at a women’s conference in Texas alongside their mother and sisters: Jessa Duggar Seewald, Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth, Jennifer Duggar, Johannah Duggar, Jordyn-Grace Duggar, and Josie Duggar. Such gatherings are infrequent for the Duggar family, who often lead more private lives.
Jana Duggar Wissmann, the eldest sister, was missing from the event as she prepares to welcome her first child with her husband, Stephen Wissmann. However, the family was joined by sister-in-law Kendra Caldwell Duggar, married to Joseph Duggar, the seventh child in the family.
“We had the best time on our Texas roadtrip to see fam,” Jill, 34, captioned a series of Instagram photos featuring her mom and sisters on Oct. 21. “Road tripping with the fam is always my fave!”
Jinger, now 31, expressed her joy on social media, saying, “Had the best time with my mom and sisters over some delicious Texas BBQ, and met many inspiring ladies! Can’t wait for next year.” Her sister Joy-Anna, 27, remarked on the few who couldn’t attend, stating, “Back together again (well… almost). Missing Jana, but so glad our sister-in-law Kendra is here!”
Despite the happy occasion, such family gatherings remain a rarity for Jill and Jinger, particularly given their strained relationship with their father, Jim Bob Duggar. Jill, who visited her parents’ home in Arkansas during the previous holiday season, mentioned that interactions with Jim Bob were limited.
“Jim Bob approached me while we were there on Christmas Day for about 5 minutes, and I do not respect him,” her husband Derick Dillard wrote on Instagram in January. “We’re trying to be civil for the sake of our family, but that doesn’t mean everything is all hunky-dorey.”
