Meghan King will spend a “few weeks” each summer with her children, following a decision that allows them to reside full-time in Tennessee with her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds, and his wife, Kortnie O’Connor.

This arrangement comes nearly a month after the 41-year-old former star of The Real Housewives of Orange County temporarily lost custody of her three children. The custody issue arose from a Child Protective Services (CPS) investigation, which reportedly found that she had administered unprescribed Ritalin to her 7-year-old son, Hayes. Meghan shares three children with Jim: 8-year-old daughter Aspen and 7-year-old twins, Hart and Hayes.

Us Weekly reported on December 11 that Meghan and Jim, who were married from 2014 until 2019, reached a custody agreement before a court hearing that was set for earlier this month.

Fans of RHOC may recall that a school employee alerted CPS after Meghan allegedly gave Hayes Ritalin, a medication for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and requested the school administer it as well. Following this incident, Meghan was permitted only supervised visits with her children.

Following the news of Meghan’s custody loss last month, Kelly Dodd, 50, insisted her former RHOC co-star was an “excellent mother.”

“I can tell you, she loves those babies. She loves those kids, and I know for a fact she is a good mother. She is an excellent mother, and I just pray that she gets her babies back,” she shared in a clip shared on social media.

“Everyone just pray for Meghan and her family,” she continued. “Those boys and that daughter need their mom. They need their mother, and it’s terrible. It’s terrible what is going on right now. All we can do is just pray for Meghan.”

Tamra Judge, 58, also weighed in on her podcast, Two Ts in a Pod, saying that Meghan was “devastated.”

“Her family is devastated. To have your children taken away from you by a third party, I couldn’t even imagine,” she stated. “The kids are very confused. They don’t fully understand things. They’re young. They’re really young. I just hope everything gets back to normal before the holidays.”
