Jimmie Allen and Alexis Gale are separating — and expecting.
The country singer and his wife announced on Instagram Friday that they have called it quits on their two-year marriage despite Gale being pregnant with their third child together.
“After much thought and reflection in recent months, Lex & I have made the decision to separate,” Allen wrote.
“As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will be welcoming another child together later this year.”
The “Freedom Was a Highway” crooner noted that the estranged couple’s “number one priority is and always will be ensuring that [their] children are healthy, happy and loved.”
They already share daughters Naomi, 3, and Zara, 1, in addition to Allen’s son, Aadyn, 8, from a previous relationship.
The “Dancing With the Stars” alum, 37, shared that he and Gale, 27, “remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another.”
He concluded his post by asking for “privacy during this time” in light of the news of the pair’s “growing family.”

Gale shared a similarly worded statement on her Instagram account.
Allen and the nurse secretly married in a private ceremony in June 2020 and threw a larger wedding in Pennsylvania in May 2021.
The “Down Home” singer admitted in August 2021 — while his wife was pregnant with Zara — that he “never wanted to get married” until he met Gale.
“I wanted to be a dad and do music, that’s it,” he explained to People at the time. “The whole husband thing was not something I ever wanted to do. But Alexis changed that. Now, I like it. It gives me some security.”
Allen added at the time, “She can’t just be like, ‘I’m done.’ Divorce is a lot of paperwork!”
It remains to be seen whether that paperwork is now being drafted up.
