Joe Giudice revealed the shocking things he saw in prison, addressed his ex Teresa Giudice’s season one salary, and called her brother Joe Gorga an “a**hole.”

Joe was married to the Real Housewives of New Jersey star for over 20 years, but they divorced after his prison release. Both Joe and Teresa went to jail after pleading guilty to fraud. Despite their divorce, the former couple remains on good terms, though neither of them is speaking to Gorga or his wife Melissa.

On the Reality Court podcast, Joe shared that his nickname “Juicy Joe” came from Teresa. He later was asked about his infamous scene when he called Teresa a “b**ch” while on the phone. According to Joe, he “regret[s]” this.

Addressing his past prison sentence, Joe suggested that he wouldn’t have gone to prison if he wasn’t on TV.

“I was in business for over 25 years before that show,” he said. “I didn’t even want to be on the show to begin with. I didn’t need the show.”

He also addressed the show itself, including Teresa’s RHONJ season one salary.

“The first year, I think they paid us $25,000. I think [Teresa] threw a party that cost me $125,000,” he said. “It cost me money to be on that stupid show.” But he indicated that the pay was better after two or three seasons.

Addressing his ex-brother-in-law, Giudice called him an “a**hole” but also a “hard worker.”

As for prison itself, Joe said, “Everything you actually see in the movies, it actually happens in prison.”

A podcast host asked if male inmates “really have sex with each other.”

“If you’re looking for that, yeah,” said Joe. “You could drop the soap, yeah, I’m sure. But I mean, if you’re not into that, it doesn’t happen.”

When asked if he ever witnessed it, Joe explained, “I would see guys in the bathroom all the time. I mean you’d see people, you know, four legs in the shower … I’ve seen guys literally, you know, having sex with other guys and then going out into the visiting room with their wives and kids … and people that you wouldn’t even think.”

Joe also witnessed inmates “beat the s**t” out of other inmates. According to Joe, one “big” guy threatened to “put [Joe] in the garbage,” though “20 minutes later,” the guy “apologized.”
