A Grandfather’s Love: Jon Bon Jovi Embraces His New Role

Jon Bon Jovi has recently shared a heartwarming detail about his family life, revealing the special name his granddaughter will call him. The iconic musician’s son, Jake Bongiovi, and daughter-in-law, Millie Bobby Brown, have welcomed a baby girl into their family, and Bon Jovi couldn’t be more thrilled.

During an appearance on the “Today” show on Thursday, the 63-year-old rock legend expressed the overwhelming joy he felt upon meeting the newest member of the family. “Immediately, you fall in love. When we met Jake and Millie’s daughter, it was just immediate,” he shared, clearly moved by the experience.

Reflecting on his new role, Bon Jovi, born John Francis Bongiovi Jr., lovingly exclaimed, “That’s my granddaughter. And it’s cool. She won’t be able to walk for at least 10 or 12 years because Papa will be carrying her everywhere she goes.” His playful remark highlights the excitement and affection he has for his granddaughter.

When host Savannah Guthrie suggested that the baby might need headphones to enjoy her grandfather’s upcoming tour, Bon Jovi responded with enthusiasm, “I count on that.” It seems that the rockstar is already planning for a future filled with music and family moments.

In August, Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, shocked fans when they announced that they had welcomed a baby girl through adoption.

“This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,” the couple, who secretly wed in May 2024, wrote in a joint statement on Instagram Aug. 21.

“We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy,” they added.

“And then there were 3. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi.”

While the “Stranger Things” actress and the “Sweethearts” actor have yet to reveal the little one’s name, they dropped a major clue about it while the family of three was on a walk in the Hamptons.

In photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Brown held onto a pink phone case with the letters “R,” “W” and “B” written in red on it.

“B” would be her daughter’s last initial since both her and her husband’s last names start with that letter.

Earlier this month, the “Enola Holmes” star shared a rare glimpse of the infant in a family snap with Bongiovi.

In the picture, Brown can be seen holding their daughter while her husband embraces both of them. The baby wore a red, plaid, Minnie Mouse onesie and her face was blurred.

In September, Jon Bon Jovi gushed about becoming a first-time grandfather.

“It’s crazy, but great. Wonderful,” the “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer told XO Bunnie at the time.

“They adopted a girl, we met the baby obviously and immediately that becomes your grandchild, you know what I mean?” he continued. “Your baby.”
