Jarrett “JT” Thomas took to his Instagram Story over the weekend to refute claims Venita Aspen recently made against him.

After Venita, 31, claimed she spent $5,000 on JT, 39, before learning that he was in a relationship with girlfriend Ali Pereless, and following a post from Salley Carson, 30, in which she accused him of blackmail, the Southern Charm star clapped back, accusing Venita of telling a “lie” and threatening Salley with legal action.

“Umm.. we are/were best friends, I forgot my credit card in her car by accident, was hobbling with a cane a few days after a major ATV crash, and PayPal’d her back in full after she insisted I/we not hobble me back to the car to get the card and hobble back. This is fun,” JT wrote in a comment shared to a post from Us Weekly.

In the Us Weekly article, Venita’s After Show comments were explained, revealing that she had told producers she’d spent thousands on JT ahead of an event she expected them to attend together.

“The jacket I wore to the e1 horse race ~5k, filmed on camera. At the time it was funny and we all laughed it off and I PayPal’d in full. Now it’s another little lie I get to deal with. Almost over.. Odaat,” he added in a caption as he shared the comment on his Story. 

Then, in a second post on his Story, JT shared a screenshot from his PayPal account in which an April 1 transfer for $4,054.48 was confirmed.

“And it wasn’t $5000.. $4054.49 was the [number],” he stated.

Amid the back and forth between JT and Venita, Salley offered her own comment on Instagram.

“I just find it funny that THIS is what he’s trying to clear up but has let V get drug through the mud for other things this whole time. Also this was before they were back on speaking terms. It’s not like she could go to him for advice during the after show… You quit and yall weren’t speaking,” she declared.

Then, after an IG user asked her what JT did to her, Salley alleged, “He invited me into his home and then tried to blackmail me.”

After seeing the comment, JT included the screenshot in a third post on his Story, along with a message about his potential plan to sue his co-star.

“This is a lie,” he wrote. “She’s never been in my house, and I’ve never blackmailed anyone. She’s blocked and my lawyers and I are deciding if we want to serve for defamation.. [probably] not [because] candidly it’s not worth my time or [money].”
