Julia Bradbury, known for her time on Countryfile, has revealed a poignant truth about her health journey. In a candid discussion about life’s inevitable challenges, she stated, “We all face difficult times.”
During her recent appearance on the Hurt To Healing podcast, Julia opened up with a heartfelt message: “We all encounter hardships. Whether it’s a major life event or an upsetting day at work, everyone experiences challenges. Life is inherently demanding, and building mental resilience requires accepting this reality.” This revelation follows her disclosure of how her cancer diagnosis in 2021 was a pivotal moment that led to significant changes in her life.
Last year, Julia updated her followers on another health matter, revealing a brain cyst discovered by doctors. Fortunately, she was assured it posed no immediate threat.
At 51, Julia is once again captivating audiences with her latest ITV series, Wonders of the Frozen South, which documents her 23-day voyage across the Southern Ocean.

As part of the experience, Julia travelled to Paradise Harbour on the western tip of Antarctica, where she completed a mini hill hike before pausing to take in the breathtaking scenery.
Speaking to Woman’s Weekly about taking on the new programme, she explained: “This was a tough journey – to leave my family for so long – and a really big decision to make this series. I don’t want to live under a cloud of fear.
“I had to prove to myself that I could still do this, that there was a strength within me and that I was brave enough.”
Reflecting on her cancer diagnosis, the mother-of-three said: “It halted me in my tracks. It forced me to ask, Am I living in a way that supports my health physically, mentally, emotionally?’”
The first episode of Julia Bradbury’s Wonders of the Frozen South airs on ITV on February 15 at 12.45pm.
