In a delightful tribute, Julia Roberts recently shared a heartfelt photo with her husband, Danny Moder, to celebrate his 57th birthday. The image, filled with affection, captures Roberts warmly embracing Moder, showcasing a rare glimpse of their personal life.
Roberts, who is 58, accompanied the picture with an enthusiastic caption: “🔥🎉🥰🎂🔥 My fav[e] day. My fav[e] man. #131 #WLF.” Her words reflect the deep bond the couple shares.
Several of the couple’s celebrity friends joined in to wish Moder a happy birthday. Rita Wilson took to the comments section to express her joy, writing, “Happy Birthday!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️love to all Moders!!!!” Meanwhile, Alexandra Wentworth, known for her role in It’s Complicated, added her own warm message, saying, “Happy Birthday to the great Danny Moder!”
This coming July, Roberts and Moder will mark their 24th wedding anniversary. Their story began on the set of Roberts’ 2001 film, The Mexican, where Moder was working behind the camera. Although both were involved with other partners at the time, fate brought them together again once they were single, leading to their enduring marriage.

(Roberts was previously married to country singer Lyle Lovett for two years, and had high-profile relationships with Kiefer Sutherland and Matthew Perry.)
Last September, Roberts paid sweet tribute to her enduring marriage during an interview with Entertainment Tonight alongside her After the Hunt costars Andrew Garfield and Ayo Edebiri. Roberts didn’t hesitate when asked to name an “element that brings you joy” in life.
“Danny Moder,” she replied. “Never changes. Never changes. Sometimes more. Sometimes medium.”
The Oscar winner has spoken often in the past about how she considered raising a family to be her greatest accomplishment in life. Chatting to CBS News in 2022, Roberts mentioned that she considered being a wife and mom her “full-time job.”
“It isn’t rainbows and kittens every day, but it does bring me a lot of joy,” she admitted.
Roberts went on, “It’s just never consumed me, being an actor. It is my dream come true, but it is not my only dream come true. The life that I have built with my husband [and] the life that we’ve built with our children, that’s the best stuff. To come home at the end of the day, triumphantly, to them.”

The America’s Sweethearts star also shared one way that she and Moder have kept passion alive in their marriage has been to write each other handwritten love notes.
“[Writing handwritten notes is] something Danny and I have always done,” she told CBS host Jane Pauley in 2022. “The first letter he ever wrote me, which was seven pages long, I still have it tucked away. One day I’ll show it to [my daughter] Hazel and say, ‘That’s what you’re looking for.’”
A year later, Us Weekly exclusively reported that Roberts and Moder were working through the “hard time” that came with their eldest children leaving the nest. (Their twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus, enrolled in college in September 2013 while Henry was finishing high school.)
“Julia’s in one of the most bittersweet times in her life right now,” a source told Us, before revealing that she was enjoying refocusing on her career.

On the horizon for Roberts is a leading role in 2027’s Panic Carefully opposite Elizabeth Olsen and Eddie Redmayne. Not much is known about the thriller yet, other than that it comes from writer-director Sam Esmail. (Roberts previously starred in Esmail’s Prime Video political thriller series Homecoming and the 2024 apocalyptic drama Leave the World Behind.)
