Julie Chrisley, once the head of a famed reality TV family, became a household name alongside her husband, Todd, on the show Chrisley Knows Best. Their lives took a dramatic turn when they were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion in 2022.
After serving time, Julie received a presidential pardon this past May, marking her return to everyday life. Now back home, she has dropped hints about her future plans in the television industry.
Recently, Julie and Todd discussed her next career move on their podcast, Chrisley Confessions. Todd mentioned keeping an eye on fan feedback, suggesting that their audience has some ideas about Julie’s upcoming ventures.
Julie Will Work On A Cooking Show
This past week, Julie spoke on her podcast, Chrisley Confessions, with Todd about the next step in her TV career. Todd shared that he had been paying attention to their fans’ comments, and that they had a thought about what she should do next:
I’ve been doing deep dives into comments that people have put on social media, whatever. And so many people want you to do segments of what you cooked while you were at summer camp. So, I think that you do that. I think that you do some of those things.
Those who have been following the Chrisleys’ story will know that Todd’s remark refers to Julie’s time in prison. The pair euphemistically refer to her stint as “summer camp” when discussing the matter, maintaining a playful spirit about the dark chapter of their lives.
That said, Julie’s new show is going to be centered around cooking, and she teased that she would “incorporate some” of the skills she picked up while serving her sentence. However, when Todd teased that he wanted a producer credit on the new series, Julie didn’t waste any time in shutting him down.
Julie Wants The Show To Be Accessible
Julie went on to explain that she was envisioning a very specific tone for her cooking show. Most importantly, she shared, she wanted it to feel accessible to viewers who didn’t have much cooking experience themselves:
I want it to be things that I actually cook, and I want it to be things that everybody else can cook. I don’t want it to be crazy ingredients that people have to go out here and search and find. I want the majority of it to be things that if you cook, that you would have in your pantry to cook.
The show will come as the latest in a long line of Julie’s TV experiences. While Chrisley Knows Best ran for ten seasons (the last of which took place after Todd and Julie had been taken in for their crimes), Julie has experience with other TV projects as well.
Those who have been following her career may recall that she’s dipped her toe into the cooking show world before. She previously served as the host of a cooking video series titled What’s Cooking With Julie Chrisley back in 2019. Throughout the series, she shared classic family recipes and welcomed guests in the form of family members and culinary professionals.
As of now, a release date for the new show has yet to be announced.
