Kai Trump recently provided an encouraging update on her mother, Vanessa Trump, as she recovers from surgery amid her ongoing breast cancer fight.
At the 2026 ESPY Awards, held at the Lincoln Center in New York City, the 19-year-old exclusively shared with Page Six, “My mom’s doing good.”
“She’s doing better,” Kai continued, her voice tinged with relief.
Kai, radiating optimism, shared a bright smile while discussing her 48-year-old mother’s condition at the high-profile gathering.
Already marking significant milestones, the new high school graduate is gearing up for her next chapter at the University of Miami, where she will join the women’s collegiate golf team. At the event, she turned heads in a stunning gold dress with a high slit.
Kai accessorized her look with matching heels, a gold cuff, a watch, a diamond necklace and drop earrings.
Kai also told Page Six about the tips her grandfather, President Donald J. Trump, gives her on the golf course, “Enjoy every moment of it. It’s going to be rocky, but enjoy every moment of it.”
As for legendary golfer Tiger Woods — who is dating Vanessa — Kai said he advises her, “Be yourself, trust the process.”
Vanessa, meanwhile, announced she was diagnosed with breast cancer via a lengthy Instagram post in May.
“While this isn’t the news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” she wrote at the time. “I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me.”
The former model appeared to be keeping her head up, as she was all smiles while shopping with Kai at a mall in West Palm Beach, Florida, a few weeks later.
The following month, Vanessa gave an update on her journey, revealing that she went under the knife and was in recovery.
“Over the past four weeks, I’ve been recovering from surgery, and I’m grateful to be healing and moving forward,” she said.
“Soon, I’ll be starting the second stage of my treatment,” the mom of five added, though she didn’t elaborate on the next steps.
Page Six exclusively reported that Vanessa’s boyfriend, Tiger Woods, whom she started dating in early 2025, was “staying focused” on being her rock.
“He’s proud of how positive she’s stayed and how she’s handling everything so far,” our insider shared. “She’s been so strong and he truly believes she’s going to be OK. He’s just trying to support her however he can right now.”
Vanessa was previously married to Donald Trump Jr., whom she shares Kai as well as kids Donald, 17, Tristan, 14, Spencer, 13, and Chloe, 11.
