Cindy Crawford‘s daughter Kaia Gerber, 21, who has followed her mother’s footsteps into modeling, has responded to the ‘nepo baby’ furor.
The showbiz legacy showcased her sensationally svelte bikini body in Celine and Wolford for the February issue of Elle, which she has covered.
‘I won’t deny the privilege that I have,’ she told the magazine. ‘Even if it’s just the fact that I have a really great source of information and someone to give me great advice, that alone I feel very fortunate for.’

Kaia, whose mother achieved international superstardom as one of the iconic Supermodels of the 1990s, said: ‘My mom always joked: “If I could call and book a Chanel campaign, it would be for me and not you.” But I also have met amazing people through my mom whom I now get to work with.’
However she insisted that a whole separate ethos is in effect when it comes to her burgeoning acting career, which includes the upcoming Apple TV+ series Mrs. American Pie featuring Carol Burnett and the percolating movie Bottoms.
‘With acting, it’s so different. No artist is going to sacrifice their vision for someone’s kid. That just isn’t how art is made, and what I’m interested in is art,’ Kaia insisted.
‘Also, no one wants to work with someone who’s annoying, and not easy to work with, and not kind. Yes, nepotism is prevalent, but I think if it actually was what people make it out to be, we’d see even more of it,’ said she.

Bottoms, which has been promoted as being about a ‘lesbian fight club,’ reunites Shiva Baby director Emma Seligman with her leading lady Rachel Sennott.

‘I was a fan of Emma because I saw Shiva Baby, and I was like: “No one has ever done anything like this. It’s so funny, and sad, and real, and touching,”‘ said Kaia.
The film she was referring to was a dark comedy starring Rachel as a college student who shockingly runs into her sugar daddy at a shiva, a Jewish funerary tradition where the bereaved family mourns for a week.
Kaia gushed that Emma ‘has such a strong point of view, and I just, immediately, was like: “What else is she going to do?” Same with Rachel. I just thought she was so good in that, and funny, and real. I’ve always loved her stand-up. Same with Ayo. I was a fan of her stand-up. I’m such a comedy nerd.’
Her professed love of comedy spilled into a major admiration for Carol Burnett, whom she was able to work with on her forthcoming Apple TV+ series.
‘I have no idea what I’m doing there,’ Kaia confessed. ‘It’s ridiculous. Carol Burnett made me understand comedy in such a different way. I never would’ve dreamed that I’d get to work with her. I still can’t believe it happened.’
The fashion plate’s latest cover shoot was awash with designs by Hedi Slimane for Seline, including a smock dress dripping with gold sequins.
While flouncing around on the beach for the cameras, she also bared her taut midriff in a knit Victoria’s Secret set accessorized with shades and boots by Celine.
Kaia made sure to showcase her vertiginous legs to full advantage, including while going trouser-less in a Celine vest-shirt combo with black go-go boots.
The runway staple, who is currently involved with Elvis star Austin Butler, 31, also swathed herself in a flesh-flashing Stars and Stripes frock by Vaquera.
