In her first public appearance since the arrest of former Prince Andrew, Kate Middleton attended the Six Nations rugby match between England and Ireland in London on Saturday. The Princess of Wales, who serves as a Patron of the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League, appeared in good spirits during the event, seated beside injured English rugby player Fin Baxter.
Middleton, 44, donned an England scarf over a stylish blue suit, exuding poise and grace amidst the recent turmoil surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s detainment earlier in the week. Her dark hair was styled in soft waves, and she opted for a natural makeup look, complementing the morning’s sporting occasion.
This public outing follows the arrest of Andrew, which occurred on his 66th birthday. He has been taken into custody on charges related to misconduct in public office during his tenure as a British trade envoy. Despite the challenging circumstances, Middleton’s presence at the game seemed to convey a message of resilience and support for the national team.
Middleton also wore her dark locks in wavy curls with minimal makeup for the Saturday morning event.
Days earlier — on his 66th birthday — Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office while working as a British trade envoy.
He was accused of allegedly sharing confidential trade documents with the late convicted rapist and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
If convicted, the former Duke of York could face life in prison. Andrew previously denied any wrongdoing, though his relationship with Epstein has been long known.
Following the arrest, King Charles shared his “deepest concern” regarding the allegations against his younger brother.
“What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities,” the 77-year-old monarch wrote in a statement.
“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course.”
Andrew, who was stripped of his royal titles last year and recently kicked out of his royal home amid damaging claims that he worked with Epstein as his client, was pictured looking terrified as he left jail Thursday evening.
He appeared startled as he tried hiding in the backseat of a car leaving Aylsham Police Station in the United Kingdom.
