Katie Lee Shares Uplifting GLP-1 Journey Update

Renowned Food Network star Katie Lee Biegel has candidly shared her journey of using GLP-1 medication to assist with weight loss.

“The experience has been overwhelmingly positive,” Biegel, who is 44, revealed on the July 23 episode of her podcast “All on the Table.” She started using the high-profile weight loss medication in February, acknowledging that such a choice is deeply personal and unique to each individual’s sense of well-being regarding their ideal weight.

The host of The Kitchen disclosed her objective to shed “10 to 12 extra pounds” of weight gained after childbirth, a goal she struggled to achieve on her own. Katie and her partner, Ryan Biegel, celebrated the arrival of their daughter Iris in 2020.

Detailing her challenges, Katie said, “I was carrying around an extra 10 to 12 pounds over the past five and a half years since having Iris, and I couldn’t seem to lose them.” Despite regular workouts and a healthy diet, she didn’t see the expected results and felt unlike herself. “I was working out five times a week, eating well, yet the weight remained, leaving me feeling unlike the person I wanted to be.”

The use of Ozempic in weight management has been a buzzing topic, with various celebrities admitting or denying their use of the drug. For instance, Chelsea Handler confessed in January 2023 on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that she inadvertently took this medication for Type 2 diabetes, which is typically used to manage […]

She continued, “As we get older, especially for women with menopause, your metabolism changes, also the way that your body processes sugar changes. There are so many additional benefits to these drugs besides just losing weight, [including] reducing inflammation, reducing your risk of heart disease that I talked about it with my doctor and it felt right for me.”

GLP-1s, including Wegovy and Mounjaro, are typically prescribed for adults who struggle with weight-related conditions. Doctors often warn individuals against using semaglutides for casual weight loss.

After a discussion with her physician, Katie began using a GLP-1 at “a micro, micro dose.”

“I went up and then I went down to a micro micro dose. I am not looking to lose any more weight,” she stated of her progress. “I lost what I wanted to lose, and I feel like a new freaking person. It has been so good for me both physically and mentally because I don’t have to think about [my size] any more when I put on my pants.”

Celebrities Weight Loss Transformations Photos of Jelly Roll and More

Shocking, indeed! Some celebs seek out extreme methods to shed pounds, while others transform with the aid of healthier methods. From Rosie O’Donnell’s and Jordin Sparks’ respective 50 pound weight losses to Biggest Loser winner Rachel Frederickson’s whopping 155 lighter frame, see before and after pictures of celebrities’ weight loss transformations.

The celebrity chef further shut down any criticism of her GLP-1 use.

“The body positivity movement has been wonderful on so many levels, but then it’s also made it so that if you say that you want to lose weight, then that’s a bad thing,” Katie acknowledged. “I think it’s OK as long as you’re healthy [and] as long as you’re looking to do things in a healthy way, and that’s what I did and it was right for me. It doesn’t mean it’s right for you or right for your neighbor, but you do you. I have really really loved it, so I think if you’re thinking about it, talk to your doctor. It is also not something to be ashamed about.”
