Katie Maloney and Ariana Madix have reportedly been “butting heads” at their West Hollywood sandwich shop, Something About Her, as of late.

As Ariana’s post-“Scandoval” schedule dies down, the 39-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum has gotten more involved in the day-to-day happenings of the restaurant, which has allegedly been tough to handle for Katie, 38, who is said to have a very different vision and working habits.

“Katie and Ariana are not doing well working together. And it’s bubbling up and has the potential to get bad,” a Reddit user shared in a February 4 post, acknowledging that they “can’t unfortunately prove” their claim.

Although Katie started feeling resentful when Ariana was busy with a million commitments after her highly publicized split from Tom Sandoval, 42, in March 2023, the user went on to say that she should’ve been careful what she wished for.

“Now that Ariana is more focused on [Something About Her], her and Katie have been butting heads because they have different visions, working styles, etc,” they explained. “Apparently they operate like night and day. Initially I think they thought their differences would [complement] each other but it’s not, it’s just causing resentment. Maybe it would have been different if Ariana was involved from the beginning but Katie is like, ‘Where have you been? We’ve been operating just fine without you and NOW you have all these thoughts and input?!’”

Since Katie and Ariana have so many friends in common, they’ve been trying to “get past” their professional issues with one another — as their pals do their best to keep them in a good place. 

“They used to bring up Something About Her as conversation but now mutual friends try to avoid bringing it up because they don’t want to be put in the middle. But they are scared Katie and Ariana’s issues will make people choose sides, comparing it to a [breakup],” the Reddit source shared. “In one venting session, Katie made a comment something like, ‘I see now why we’ve never been close before.’”

According to the user, Katie is very aware of public perception and worries about bringing up any criticism against Ariana, even if it is “constructive,” because she knows her former castmate is “someone so beloved.”

Katie also reportedly fears that if the public were forced to take sides, they would choose Ariana over her since “she’s the It Girl now.”

Vanderpump Rules is being recast ahead of its 12th season, which is expected to begin filming sometime early this year.
