Katie Maloney Shares How Former Pump Rules Costar Would 'Ruin' Scenes, Says Season 11 Was “Torture” and She “Genuinely Hate[s]” Certain Costars, Plus Claims Schwartz and Lisa Had a “Weird” Dynamic

Katie Maloney says season 11 of Vanderpump Rules was “torture” as she “genuinely hate[s]” certain co-stars. The star also shared how a certain castmate would ruin scenes, and she claimed her ex-husband Tom Schwartz and Lisa Vanderpump had a “weird” dynamic.

After season 11 concluded last year, it was announced that each castmate – other than Lisa – was getting replaced. Throughout the episodes, tensions were high due to the fallout of Tom Sandoval’s affair with Rachel Leviss.

On the Boyfriend Material podcast, Katie said season 11 was “torture,” and she “genuinely hate[s]” some of her cast members.

“Some days we filmed Tuesday through Saturday,” said Katie, via @vanderpodrecaps on Instagram. “At the end of the day, it’s still like a production with a crew and members of the production crew that are unionized and things like that. So there are like work hours technically. And we had, like, three crews that circulated … Sometimes I would film like all day.”

“And sometimes if there’s drama, someone got to fight the night before, then your entire schedule changed the next day,” she went on. “Because they got to follow the story.”

She said the cameras can get to your house at “lightning speed.”

“Sometimes you don’t know the context. They’re like, hey, you’re at this time and like, we’ll be there,” she explained. “Cause someone’s got to drop a bomb on you.”

Katie said castmates are “not supposed to” tell each other what happens because production wants to film their first reaction, which is “way more fascinating.”

The host then asked if certain castmates would text each other and ‘ruin it.’

“Yeah, there’s one girl that really made a habit of that,” Katie answered. “We’d be filming it. We’d be maybe talking about her [or] her boyfriend or husband or whatever at the time … and she’s like texting him, telling him everything that’s happening.”

But according to Katie, when production finds out, “you get in big trouble.” She also claimed that some castmates “self-produce,” and they would “[try] on new personalities for the camera.”

As for her ex-husband, Katie claimed that Schwartz and Lisa had a “weird thing,” as he had a “crush” on her and she would “baby him.”
